Gairnshiel - loved it
A lovely cottage & real getaway from it all place. Clean, tidy & everything thought of to make our stay very pleasant & comfortable. Can’t wait to go back again.
Clean, smart and relaxing
My parents and children stayed here for a week and had an amazing time. They described the property as really lovely, clean and peaceful. They enjoyed the private back garden, log burner and proximity to the reservoir. They described the owner as very pleasant, helpful and respectful of their privacy. They all had a great time and will definitely return. Many thanks for an all round lovely time.
Thank you for the lovely review. I’m so glad your family enjoyed their stay at the cottage and I hope you’ll return one day.
What a beautiful place, the views are stunning, the cottage has everything you need apart from a few leaflets on places to visit and places to eat... Otherwise everything was great...
Quite comfortable cottage . Very remote
External photo very misleading! Owner's house 4 metres from your front door looking directly into your front room and dining room. Blinds had to be permanently drawn for privacy. When you go somewhere fairly remote and rural you expect exactly that. Does rather defeat the purpose and thus made it difficult for us as a family properly to chill out from our busy lives.
I'm sorry that you were unhappy with the cottage. We certainly didn't intend to mislead you and would have been happy to answer any questions regarding location etc prior to your booking. The small windows 'across' from the cottage dining room are our utility and vestibule which we do not linger in and certainly don't 'look ' in at guests from. Apologies once again for your disappointment and I hope it didn't spoil your holiday.
Peaceful, cozy, blissful. A superb experience!
My husband and I, with our dog, required de-stress time! This was completely achieved at Gairnshiel Cottage. The accommodation had everything you would need and more - roaring log fire each evening, a kitchen with all appliances/paraphynalia which we could not fault, private back garden where we could safely let our dog roam into, comfy king size bed, wonderful views, Wi Fi. Grocer and butcher not too far away. Local area great for walks and whilst we did not roam too far, we could have done so, if wished, as plenty to do and see in the area. This may be unbelievable to some of you - the weather was cold but dry the whole week! I know, we couldn't believe our luck either! All booking arrangements were managed swiftly with e-mails from Lynda herself. We would have no hesitation in returning to this cottage and we can recommend it to others. Many thanks to Lynda and family for delivering exactly what it says on the tin!

Perfect abd relaxing
Zwei Schlafzimmer, zwei Bäder
Küche, WZ, EZ alles da was man braucht
Mitten im Nichts! Abseits von allem und direkt am See.
Ich kann absolut nichts negatives sagen. Das Cottage ist mit so viel Hingabe eingerichtet. Sauber. Hat alles was man braucht.
