The Mill has manual operated driveway gates, a laurel lined driveway leads to the front of the property providing ample car parking. It seems to have more a modest two storey building at the front whilst the accommodation is in fact arranged over four floors as evidenced by the considerably more substantial rear elevation. Professionally interior designed throughout, the watermill offers traditional character with a luxurious contemporary twist. From the central hall, the accommodation at ground level includes a large sitting room which enjoys the striking feature of the mill machinery. Further living accommodation is found on the ground floor with a spacious family dining room. The kitchen and breakfast room is extensively fitted and arranged sociably around a central island. There is lots of space for eating and entertaining. Outside, the leisure wing has a heated swimming pool and changing room. Whilst a large hot tub is available it enables the visitor to see the view.

Excellent house and area
I would highly recommend this house and area for family’s and older people, the house is extremely spacious, indoor pool (heated)
Large jacuzzi, nice pub in walking distance.
The owners are Lovely people, they were very welcoming and helpful
Wonderful weekend spent at this amazing property
We really enjoyed staying at 'The Old Watermill' with our family to celebrate our Pearl Wedding. Loved spending time in the Pool and Hot tub and relaxing in such an amazing property. Very well equipped, with everything we needed. Our two labradors enjoyed the walks in the forestry which was a few minutes from the Watermill. During our stay my daughter went into Cardiff city centre to see Ed Sheeran in concert, this only took around 20-25mins to get there. We recommend this property and would love
to return in the future.
Great house plenty of room
We stayed for a stag party 8 of us plenty of rooms house was an ideal base for us in the day then 20 mins to Cardiff for the evening. Only issues were the Wi-fi not working for the first day and the barberque not working but Alex came within 30 minutes with disposables for us. The house has everything you will need and more would stay again.
We had previously reported the broadband to BT, we are very disappointed with their lack lustre approach on fixing the problem. Apparently the line external to the Mill was creating the situation, we have been assured by BT that the line is fixed.
The BBQ was in full working order, we can only surmise that water had accidentally affected the jets.
Thank you for your review
A great place to stay whatever the weather.
The Watermill was a great place for our party of 6 adults and an eight-month old, to stay.
It was well equipped, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The heated swimming pool and hot tub provided much needed relaxation and amusement after busy days sightseeing. Will certainly be recommending to family and friends.
Lovely property, perfect for a get together
We spent 3 nights here and we had an amazing time. The house itself is beautiful (the pictures do not do it justice) and the communal areas are perfect for large groups of people. The pool and hot tub are also a really lovely bonus. Alex met us at the property when we arrived and she made our arrival very smooth and easy. She gave us clear and thorough information and her communication via text message was very quick. The location of the house is extremely peaceful and we enjoyed some lovely walks. Would also definitely recommend the pub at the top of the road! Thank you very much Chris & Alex
Lovely holiday home
House was beautiful and secluded but with easy access to Caerphilly. There were lovely walks round about and our dog adored playing in the big enclosed garden. Usually photos make rooms look bigger than they are but that wasn't the case here. We were surprised by how massive the house is. Swimming pool and hot tub were lovely and it was nice hearing the stream through the window when drifting off to sleep at night.
Special interest holidays:
Lisvane village centre offers a parade of shops, church and public house whilst the well regarded Maenllwyd pub restaurant is very nearby.
The owner of the property is very knowledgeable of sporting events in the area and would be happy to discuss further on request.
The property is based between Bristol and Cardiff airport. They are approx 20 miles each way.
The village of Rudry is a mile away, Rudry castle and many scenic walks are nearby which information can be made available The area also has an envious mountain biking fraternity due to the many scenic parks nearby.
The city of Cardiff is only 5 miles away.
The Maenllydd pub and restaurant has many visitors both far and wide so a visit is recommended. It is only a five minute walk from the property.
