About Louise Bancroft
Louise spent two years converting this fascinating old Cider Barn. She has previously worked in property but has never taken on such a large but ultimately rewarding project. Was she mad, fool hardy or just brave? Louise loves the final finished beamed Cider Barn - her guests say it is peaceful, spiritual and they feel refreshed. Her children Will, James and Rose are all working elsewhere but they visit regularly, and love the walks and runs along the River Tone and the little spring flower clad lanes. Louise has worked abroad three times and travelled alot, but she is happy in this special corner of the West Country - accompanied by Inca her charming, black cocker. She will recommend and book local pubs for you.
Louise Bancroft purchased this Barn in 2010
Why Louise Bancroft chose Langford Budville
I bought this Cider Barn to convert it and live in it, as a home/business. I love the West Country, here we are between Exmoor, Quantocks and Blackdown Hills. It is quiet and peaceful with walks in all directions yet it is only 3 miles to M5.
What makes this Barn unique
Walks from our doorstep along the River Tone and up to the local pub the Martlet in Langford Budville. Quiet, stillness in this pretty rural hamlet and Cider Barn's sunny, South West facing garden courtyard.

A lovely get away
Really had a most restful stay, Louise was so welcoming and very helpful. Will definitely be back.
A great holiday and both Louise and Inca were very welcoming.
A1 could not have wanted a more relaxing holiday and everything in our apartment was perfect 👌 would highly recommend.
Excellent, as above.
Quiet apartment in peaceful situation
Lovely bedroom and ensuite. The living room and kitchen were a bit small but adequate for our needs. The owner Louise is lovely and was very helpful. We hope to return at a future date.
Lovely apartment, perfect for my needs
The apartment was bigger than I expected from looking at the photos, so that was a lovely surprise, as was being greeted by Inca, the beautiful little cocker spaniel who was just so friendly. Louise, the owner, was great, showing me around when I arrived and giving advice when requested.
The bed was incredibly comfy and the shower was a delight. Everything was impeccably clean and well maintained. The small hideaway kitchen is a great idea, as long as you're not planning on cooking a big meal - I'm sure it would be possible but definitely more for the occasional small meal/breakfast.
The location is great, very quiet but pretty close to Taunton, so you can get anything you need. Walks around the area are lovely, with a small river just a five minute walk away.
I spent two weeks here and enjoyed every minute!
Nicely presented and well laid out property
The apartment was just right for our stay the kitchen in the cupboard was well equipped and easy to shut away when not in use giving the feeling of space. The owner was very friendly and available to help answer any questions. Great location and lovely countryside.
