About the property

Villa Apollo and Villa Helios

2 independent villas with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large terraces and each with infinity pool

Villa Apollo and Villa Helios are set peacefully amongst the olive groves and stands of cypress trees, with stunning views over the Ionian Sea and across to the sister island made famous by Homer's 'Odyssea', Ithaka. The architect owner designed the property to ensure that each villa and each pool has complete privacy and takes advantage of their exceptional hillside location. The spacious pool terraces are furnished with elegant white sunbeds, sofa and armchairs, and there is a covered veranda as shade is a luxury in Greece... The villas are fully-equipped with everything you need for a family holiday. Inside the villa the layout really gives a feeling of light and space, combining both modern and traditional elements. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with a comfortable sofa and armchairs + dining area. The room has French doors that lead directly onto the pool terrace.

This is the perfect choice for a sophisticated holiday.

return visit - it must have been good

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at the "sister" villa (Apollo) last year and it was so good we had to come back - Apollo was booked so we rented next door at Helios - we were not disappointed.

Catherine the Villa manager went way beyond her duty to sort out a small problem with the water which no one would have expected such a quick and professional response.

The only difference between the 2 villas are:- Helios has the slightly (but only just) better view where Apollo has the better kitchen layout -

Would we return again??

YES.

You feel totally at home within 2 min. of opening the door.

Clean - Tidy - well equipped - homely

100% Perfect

  • 5 of 5

The Property Manager "Catherine" gave such good directions that you would not need a map or GPS. We Landed at midday and were easily at the Villa within 2 hours (inc stopping at a Supermarket for some provisions).

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:- Exactly as described!. as soon as we opened the front door we knew we had made a great choice. all the furnishings were of good quality. The kitchen had enough plates, cutlery, Glasses etc. - A nice touch was a new sealed cleaning cloth and plenty of dishwasher tables.

THE VIEW:- You could sit out in the shade by the pool and have an uninterrupted vista of the boats sailing buy about a mile away. the lounge area offered this same view. another thing we liked was that when you were sitting in the lounge area you could not see the kitchen (although the ground floor is open plan).

COMFORT:- unlike a lot of villas we have stayed in the beds were remarkably comfortable.

THE AREA:- easy to drive to Fiskardo for meals and shopping along with many other restaurants within a 5Km drive.

To sum up.

We were not sure about which was the best area to stay in Kefalonia but after driving around the island we were convinced that we had made the best decision.

Would we return? - Yes to Kefalonia. Yes to Fiskardo and YES TO Villa Apollo.

Absolutely beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We have just come back from a 10 night stay at Villa Helios and can highly recommend it.

The location is perfect with stunning views out over the sea and across to Ithaca. It is set up a hillside amongst the trees and is very peaceful and quiet, disturbed only by the occasional visit from a herd of grazing goats as they passed down below the villa amongst the trees. Tinkling bells and very funny to watch as they climbed up into the trees.

The villa itself is very light, spacious and comfortable and has everything you need. Cleaned a couple of times during our stay and linens changed which was just right. The pool is superb and a perfect size to swim properly every day, or just to use for a quick dip to cool off. Plenty of outdoor space and enough sunbeds and comfy furniture so you can be out in the sun or in the shade whenever you want.

Fiscardo is a 5 or 10 minute drive away (depending on which road you take) and has many restaurants, cafes and bars and a big supermarket. There are a few walks you can take from the town – long or short depending on how energetic you feel. The village of Maganos is closer and has a couple of tavernas and a supermarket. Myrtos Beach and Assos town are both in easy reach.

Booking was very easy and all done by email with Catherine, who was really quick and efficient every time I emailed her with questions. She also provided very helpful directions and tips about places to visit in the surrounding area.

At 2 km from the villa, Fiscardo is a picturesque and beautiful Greek harbour village on the Northern tip of Kefalonia, largest of the seven Ionian Islands. Fiscardo is unique in that it was left virtually undamaged during the great earthquake of 1953, that ruined most of the historic buildings on Kefalonia. Fiscardo, with its waterfront tavernas and bars, is simply a delight. Strict building regulations, to maintain the elegance of the Venetian architecture which lines Fiscardo's horseshoe harbour, have created a magical setting that is one of Kefalonias highlights.Traditionnal Kefalonian fishing boats moor alongside the more extravagant temporary visitors during the summer. If you are early enough you can buy freshly caught fish. Otherwise, a stroll around the harbour will take you on a tour of some of the most luxurious yachts. Many of them are owned by the rich and famous who are attracted to Kefalonia by the tranquillity of Fiscardo.Fiscardo at night takes on an entirely different perspective. The lights, the old buildings, cafes, bars and restaurants all combine to provide a magical Mediterranean atmosphere.Of all the villages of Kefalonia, Fiscardo stands out as having a unique ambiance, especially on a summer evening.
