About Mandy Carrington
I am a private language and music teacher, living and working in Brighton,UK.In my free time, I enjoy singing and have been performing in a jazz duo in local bars, restaurants, venues. In the past I have lived abroad and taught English in France and the Pyrennees. I love the Mediterranean lifestyle so when I discovered the beautiful, unspoilt town of Dalyan, I decided to put both feet in and buy a home from home. Since November 2012, I have visited Meadow Appartment 5 times and never looked back. Dalyan is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and there are so many wonderful things to see and experience. I hope you enjoy discovering Dalyan and the comfort and tranquillity of the Meadow Appartment.

Why Mandy Carrington chose Dalyan
When I first saw the Meadow Appartment house, I knew immediately that I wanted to buy it. As you walk up the country lane the property is situated upon, the whole magnificent Delta opens up around you. There are so many different views to take in, all with the drama of the surrounding mountains. There is a real rural atmosphere, with farmers as neighbours, but it is only a short walk to the nearest good restaurant, and only 10mins walk to the centre of Dalyan. The garden at Meadow Appartment is beautiful and full of various trees providing natural shade.Along with the significant daily cool breeze from the Delta,it makes the summer heat much more bearable in July/August and gives a very pleasurable temperature throughout the season.
What makes this Apartment unique
The other great feature of Meadow Appartment is that it is lovely and quiet (apart from the odd tractor!) so you can really hear the wildlife and get into the country atmosphere. However,if you want something lively, its so easy to walk into town and find entertainment. The road that leads to the centre is charming, lined with some of the best restaurants in town and a little quieter than the centre, although Dalyan never really feels hectic. The atmosphere is just very friendly with a great choice of bars, cafes and live music to suit all tastes. Lastly, down the side of the Meadow Appartment property there is a completely natural spring, where you can fill your bottles daily. Some spring water is used in the pool which only adds to the lovely swimming experience.

thankyou for allowing us to stay at your lovely apartment, it was very clean and well equiped, in a nice location, just a quiet stroll down to the town. However, i think the pool area could do with a shower to wash off the suntan lotion , the alternative is to go back and forth to the apartment to shower before you use the pool.kind regards Terry
A very relaxing holiday
The flat was clean and very comfortable with everything we needed for a self catering holiday. The pool is absolutely beautiful, and I really liked the location - away from the bustle of Dalyan town, but still within easy walking distance. The only noise at night was the owls! Many thanks Mandy for letting us stay in your flat.
Special interest holidays:
There is an amazing range of habitats in the local area; from the reed beds north of the town to the Koycegiz Lake. With many species of birds, from White Tailed Eagles to Red-rumped swallows, expert birders and amateurs would struggle not to have a great birding holiday. We can organise guided walking tours through areas. We manage perfect accommodation for large groups throughout the year, that are great for comfortable relaxation when not out in the wilderness.
Walking groups taking international excursions are aware of the amazing possibilities available to walkers and ramblers in and around Dalyan, Turkey. There are a number of great walks to be done in the local area; from the walk up to Candir and Kaunos over stunning mountains and rock tombs, to the Liquid Amber Fosrets of Dalyan. The Famous Lykian Way walk of 300+km across the southern coast of Turkey, is a trekking holiday for the hardcore (especially in the summer).
Dalyan is best known for its lush greenery, the winding river and a beach which is not just a natural wonder but also won The Times Best Open Space Award in 2010 and is one of the few natural breeding grounds of the beautiful Carreta Carreta sea turtle which can be seen. Over 6km of golden sands with access by bus, car and boat there are cafeterias at either end for refreshments but plenty of empty space amongst the dunes to escape to.
The beach is a short Dolmus or boat ride away.
The nearest airport is Dalaman which is a 25 minutes drive away. Once in Dalyan car hire is not essential as we are so close to everything you could need. The town itself is quite small and everything is within easy walking distance.
Everything is within walking or cycling distance in Dalyan. This apartment is an easy walk to restaurants, bars and cafes and the riverboats that you take to the beach or the ruins of Kaunos with its amphitheatre and ancient Lycian rock tombs, the mud baths, sea fishing and so on. Fethiye and Olu Deniz are 50 minutes drive away. Marmaris is about 75 minutes drive, both of which have ferries to Rhodes.
There are many activities available such as trekking through the mountains, cycling and jeep safaris; sunrise or moon light boat cruises for fishing or turtle watching, tours to various islands or just along the coast. Sailing, sea kayaking & white water rafting and diving & snorkelling in clear waters through caves and an abundance of marine life. Horse riding is also available.
Dalyan town itself is compact stretching only a mile in any direction from the centre and is framed by a glorious backdrop of pine clad mountains in every direction. The flatness of town makes it a perfect place for walking with children or the elderly and it is a delight to cycle around. For more active holidaymakers there are forests and hiking hills all within walking distance. Dalyan is also distinguished by the lack of package tourists though there are still plenty of bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes. There is a market on Saturday’s selling local produce, clothing and tourist items.
The town has a bank, ATMs a post office a number of well stocked supermarkets centered around the town square. Also the Dolmus (bus) area for trips to surrounding attractions and only 50m or so to the riverside to sit by boats or you can take a relaxing walk along the the river or cross the river to Kanos tombs and amphitheatre. The boats can take you to the beach or on moonlight cruises to the lake, crab fishing and turtle feeding. For the more adventurous there are walking tours, scuba diving . There are also hotsprings and mud baths at the nearby Koycegiz lake.
