About Kristine Cunningham
Kristine Cunningham is half Norwegian and spent her childhood there, with many holidays in lodges just like Dalriada. The chance to buy a property like this for the family to use, complete with grass roof and water and mountain views, was just too tempting. Since it was first rented out for holidays at the beginning of 2012, the many lovely families, groups and couples who have stayed there seem to agree that it has a unique, cosy and comfortable atmosphere. A real home from home.
Kristine Cunningham purchased this Cottage in 2011

A great place to stay to explore the West Highlands
We had a great stay in this Scandinavian Lodge. It is very well equipped, comfortable and in a lovely setting. We will definitely return.
Wonderful lodge and location
Dalriada lodge is simply the best place we have stayed. We no longer have passports as we travel great Britain for our breaks and the British isles can match the best in both scenery and habitat. This lodge is perfect in location with beautiful views. The lodge owner has made it a luxury place to stay. We loved all the wildlife visiting the garden and all the brilliant class things the lodge has to offer.
I do hope this review encourages people to book (although not when we rebook!) As this is simply superb and we have stayed in many throughout the UK in all countries so we feel qualified to give this lodge a very good truthful review. Hope you enjoy as much as we did Steve Pennington my wife Diane and our happy plummer terrier Arnie.
Loch Awe Escape
Fantastic location, peaceful and a great escape whilst within range of great places to visit. Property could be described as quirky but you would know that from the details - and it is good quirky! Bigger than it looks and kitted out with all you need. Thoroughly enjoyed staying there.
Dalriada, the perfect getaway
Dalriada was spacious and comfortable throughout, with excellent amenities. We enjoyed the sauna (a rare delight). The log fire and plentiful logs were put to good use. The Kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The garden was especially enjoyable, with its own stream (quite full due to the rain we enjoyed for much of the week) and the many and varied avian visitors.
For us the location was perfect, with access to boats on Loch Awe, the challenge of Ben Cruachan, beautiful Ardkinglas gardens, and even the telephone box down the lane with home-made cakes and jam. We were coming back to an area last visited 20 or more years ago, and we were not disappointed. Dalriada was the perfect home from home for the six of us and our two dogs.
Home from Home
Loved our week's break here. The lodge was amazing, very spacious and in a beautiful setting. It was fully equipped with everything you need. My toddler loved exploring the garden and it's stream. Plenty of wildlife spotted, lots of birds, red squirrels and even bat's on a night. Loved it. Great location, within short driving distance of lots of activities and places of interest. Definitely recommend.
Fabulous base for great holiday!
We had a wonderful break at Dalriada Lodge. It is a beautiful place to stay, the facilities are excellent and there is plenty to occupy you if the weather keeps you indoors. Table tennis, waffles and sauna were big hits! It's great to have a pub within walking distance- but we mostly cooked in the well equipped kitchen. Plenty of great walks, boat on the Loch was fabulous and within easy distance of Oban. Thanks Kris!

There are countless excellent walks around the loch and great opportunities for wildlife spotting. Deer, pine martins, red squirrels, buzzards, osprey and even beaver have been seen in Argyll.
