Your holiday home-from-home is a traditional, detached, Swedish timber house on one floor, set in a large garden with the Vindelälven river some 150 m from the door. The 100 sqm house, which sleeps 6, is centrally-heated and has a log-burning stove in the sitting room, a fully equipped dining-kitchen, and two bedrooms. The fully-tiled shower room has underfloor heating. There is free wifi to the property and there is a log fired sauna in the garden. There is a spacious double bedroom with a queen-size bed and a second bedroom with two 120cm x 200 cm single beds. A sofa bed in the sitting room provides for two more guests and an infant's cot & high chair are available at the property.
You can enjoy a quiet sundowner on the sitting room's veranda and there is bbq equipment provided. The rural area lends itself to hiking, cycling, fishing in the river or nearby lake in the summer, and is a beautiful spot in the autumn for mushroom & berry picking. In the winter the river freezes over and you can walk for miles along its course, crunching through the snow and spotting deer, elk, reindeer, foxes and perhaps eagles. From September to April the Northern Lights put on their stunning show from time to time and you may get that once in a lifetime photograph.
There are plenty of books, magazines, board games etc to while away a few hours and we have a little rowing boat on the river that you can hire by the day. We live just over the road and are on hand if you need a chat or want to borrow more books, dvds or a cup of sugar! We have a garden chalet next to our cottage where (in the warmer months) there is usually tea & coffee (plus the odd biscuit) on the go and it's a pleasant place to sit and watch the river twinkling through the trees ....
Towels, bed-linen, logs are all included and there is ample free parking space.
Come and enjoy one of the most peaceful & safe environments that we've ever encountered, Oden's Dawn is available for a single night break in your journey, or, if you have the time, take a long break here and perhaps write that book!
