Two bedroomed part of Country House in the Dordogne region of Franc

About Susan Arbuthnot
I am in my 60's & used to run a hotel/Art school here in France, so if you would like any catering, I can cook! I have rented out properties here & in the Uk and try to make them as welcoming & comfortable as possible, so far no complaints!
Why Susan Arbuthnot chose Bouteilles-Saint-Sébastien
I have lived in France for 26 years and moved to this house about 10 years ago, because of the beautiful countryside and lack of humidity. The northern part of the Dordogne where we were before has many more forests and further south seems to get too hot, I find this part of France has a gentler climate, it can however get up to 38 in a hot summer! The house is on the edge of a small & friendly hamlet, secluded but not isolated and the pool has a great view over rolling countryside, not a house in sight! The local villages & towns are less touristic than the Dordogne Valley, and there are many good festivals in this part of the world & just over the border in the Charentes region. Food in the daily markets of Angouleme is really good quality and the local farmer's markets have everything a foodie could need!
What makes this Condo unique
The house is on the edge of a hamlet nice neighbours no barking dogs! Excellent local markets & shops in Verteillac which is about 5 miles. Good local cafés & restaurants and wonderful towns such as Aubeterre & Brantome not far away. The view really is superb over rolling fields planted with sunflowers & maize and Limousin cows in the distance, it is a very tranquil spot.

Beautiful home with rustic charm in a beautiful location
A welcoming home in a quiet location. A great sized pool much loved by the children. Only a short drive to some wonderful locations and more adventurous activities. Canoeing and mountain biking were favourites. Top class restaurants near by - wonderful food at a really reasonable price. The house was a home so well equipped in the kitchen and a bbq outside that we used on a number occasions, and ate in the outside dining area overlooking magnificent countryside. A pleasant and relaxing stay.
There are river beaches! Very popular in France, on the Dronne at Aubeterre
about 10kms and many other lakes with beaches and child facilities nearby,
a good one is Lac Jamaye.
Bergerac Airport approx 60kms just over an hour. Bordeaux 110kms an hour and a half. Car hire essential. TGV train (fast train from Uk) to Angouleme, half an hour.
5 miles to nearest shops, supermarkets and chemist, cash points/bank etc. Places of interest all around! Nearest bar restaurant 3 miles with terrace views and great music.
