Anne Cottage in Bakewell, Derbyshire, England - A Short Walk To The Town Centre And Easy Access To All The Places Of Interest
About Charles Kirkman
Christine and I live in Baslow just 4 miles from Bakewell and so are able to be on hand to look after our cottages and our guests if there are any problems. We have a local business which provides services all over the Peak District and so we love the area and know it well and are always pleased to give local information to help you make the most of your stay.
Charles Kirkman purchased this Cottage in 2004
Why Charles Kirkman chose Bakewell
Christine and I moved to the area 22 years ago and set up a business providing services to local residents and businesses which has enabled us to become part of the community and also to come to know the area very well. We love the beauty of the countryside but also the diversity in the villages, the local customs and festivals and of course the people who live here. Bakewell is in the centre of the Peak District and is a real tourist attraction in its own right, but it also makes the surrounding area very accessible whether by car, on foot or by public transport.
What makes this Cottage unique
Whilst on a hill the cottage is truly within easy walking distance of the town centre and other attractions. It is near the church and the Bakewell Museum for example. Parking in Bakewell is always an issue so we ensured each of our properties have designated parking, and at Anne Cottage there are places for two cars. For your convenience free Wi-Fi access is available. Anne Cottage is rated 4 Stars by the Tourist Board and has the modern facilities you would expect but at the same time retaining many 17th century features and the charm of an old quaint cottage.

Quaint cozy comfortable cottage.
We just returned from our wonderful two week stay at Anne Cottage. Great location for getting around Derbyshire and very close to all the local shops, cafes and pubs. The parking was fantastic, right outside the front door.
The cottage was very clean, nicely furnished and well equipped with everything we needed for the entire stay.
We had the pleasure to meet Charles, the owner, who was super helpful and very friendly.
I would highly recommend this property.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Anne Cottage in Bakewell. It was very comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated, making it feel like a home away from home. Bakewell is a lovely little town; we enjoyed the cafes, ice cream and sweet shops and the fantastic farmers market. Would definitely recommend.
We are delighted Tracy and her family had a great time at Anne Cottage and appreciated the effort we make to present great accommodation for our guests here and at Brew House our lager property which is also in Bakewell.
Ideal Bakewell cottage
Cottage is lovely homely , comfortable and clean!
It is in the perfect location for staying in Bakewell and parking at the property makes life much easier.
Charles the owner was very helpful and always replied promptly to any questions!
Will definitely stay again x
It's great that Sarah and her family found Brew House so convenient in being just 300 yds from Bakewell centre and we try to ensure that the house is clean and cpomfortable as Sarah found it. We regularly upgrade areas of the house where we see an opportunity to make it just that bit better such as the Master bedroom which we recently refurbished with new furniture and carpet.
Central Location Comfortable Cottage
Enjoyed our stay in Anne Cottage , beautiful surrounding countryside and Chatsworth flower show. Easy walking distance to the centre of Bakewell and its Amenities.
I would recommend the property.
Thank you Mary for your lovely review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in Anne Cottage and will be very welcome in the future.
Cosy 17th Century Cottage in stunning Bakewell
We enjoyed very much our stay at the cottage in stunningly beautiful Bakewell. Fresh bread, tea and coffee provided was much appreciated The cottage is in an excellent location;nicely away from the centre.Having allocated car parking by the cottage was great. It was much appreciated that the pets could come too.In the lounge by the TV and curtain there are lots of cables which may present a fire risk.It would be helpful to have on the utility room door a sign pointing out that there is a step down as one goes in and a step up to the sink, especially as the floor is concrete.
The weather was warm and sunny during our stay. The cottage and Bakewell;what a brilliant place to be.Thank you very much for having us.
Aila and family.
We are delighted Aila and her family, with various pets had a great holiday in Anne Cottage.
The electrical connections are a necessity for today's living as the TV etc are located in a particular area for ease of use and all connections are tested annually and are declared safe so there is minimal risk of fire, no more than in most homes.
The suggestion of a notice for the small steps in the utility room is one we will take on board, although this has never been mentioned by previous guests before.
Having the two parking spaces is a huge benefit in Bakewell as parking in town is not easy and I'm pleased our guests appreciated the convenient location of the cottage.
ANNE COTTAGE: BAKEWELL
This is a delightful cottage which well lives up to the promotional material. It was spotlessly clean and superbly furnished to a high standard, with plenty of kitchen utensils, crockery, glasses etc. The bedrooms and en suites were excellent with genuine privacy for each sleeping area, which is ideal if two couples for example were staying. In the interests of balance the only suggestion we might make is for the towels to be a little bigger or for there to be more of them, but that is a minor criticism in the context of the overall super quality of this cottage. The property is brilliantly situated for the amenities of Bakewell and a perfect location for the surrounding dales and walking routes. We were absolutely delighted with Anne Cottage and would definitely stay again. Congratulations to the owners for making available such a prestigious dwelling for those seeking to recharge their batteries in such a lovely environment. J.Robinson
We are delighted that John and his guests had such a great time in Anne Cottage and found the presentation of our property to a very high standard which is just as we would want any of our guests to find.
We always carry out some work each year to improve the cottage and have recently replaced the sofas in the lounge, one of the bedroom carpets and carried out some redecoration.
We provide each guest with a bath and hand towel, bath mats and tea towels in addition to the small necessities in both the kitchen, such as dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, dish cloths, bread and milk and in the bathroom, toilet rolls, shower gel, hand wash and cotton pads to help make a stay easier and more comfortable.
We'll be very pleased to welcome John back in the future.
