About K Dore
My husband grew up in Devon and spent many childhood summers in Croyde, camping and surfing. When we first met we would drive from London to spend many weekends there enjoying the beautiful beach, surfing, walking and the village pubs and restaurants. We spent the week before getting married relaxing in the dunes (wedding dress in box in back of the car). Work has taken us to USA but we continue to use the property on a regular basis and invite family and friends to enjoy the house and the beautiful surrounding coastal area.
K Dore purchased this House in 2005
Why K Dore chose Croyde

Large, well-appointed property with excellent location
Would definitely recommend the property:
- Location absolutely ideal with 5 minute walk into village
- Still far enough away from the village to be idyllic and quiet
- Very spacious with all mod-cons (2 kitchens, large gas bbq, etc.)
- Lovely large, safe garden ideal for children
- Communication from the owner was top notch
- House essentials need to be supplied by guests (toilet paper, tea towels, soap, etc.) so either bring with you or do a big shop on first day
Not a criticism of the property, but we were somewhat disappointed with Croyde itself
- Clean, sandy beach with excellent surfing
- Nice walks up around the coastal paths
- Relatively long walk from village down to beach (ca. 500m, no "sea-side promenade")
- Extremely busy in high season with far too much traffic for such a tiny village. Lack of pavements makes walking in the village with small children quite hazardous
- Next large supermarket is in Braunton. Only 5 miles away but with the awful traffic it can be a 60 minute drive.
The house was perfect for 3 generations -plenty of space, a beautiful garden and within walking distance of the beach.
Our second visit and we hope to return.
Great house, brill location
The setting of the house is just beautiful. The house itself has all the amenities you could ever need and was very spacious for our multi generational family holiday (ages 2 1/2 - 77 1/2!). Obviously croyde itself is fab. We have had some great days out on the beach and local area.
lovely house and location.
Plenty of room both inside house and in beautiful garden. Also Croyde quaint village with local shops.
Great house in a lovely location
We had a fantastic time in this great house, lots of room even when we had a couple of family's there for the weekend everyone could find their own space and a nice big garden for the kids, all at the end of a quiet road. The weather was amazing for us so most days spent on the beach which is a short, easy for the kids walk away. Pubs and small local shops all within a short walk away. As we had such good weather we barely touched the car all week which was perfect. Croyde is a lovely village with great beaches and nice pubs all close. Great house in a wonderful place would definitely come back again!
Home from Home.
It was perfect, great layout,we were a family of ten, three generations, plenty of room to have our own space.Cleanliness was five star, garden superb, four children who loved the space. We went Trout fishing and the children thought it was great to catch there dinner.Pop up Pizza was really good, also the barbecue was great.
