About Marian Thornley
We bought our property, Mas Pallagourdi, as a semi-derelict ancient farmhouse, set within wonderful scenery, in 2007. We have spent five years working hard to renovate the house and gardens, trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible, as well as preserving the unique character of this ancient house. We care very much about the environment, so we installed solar panels and water collection systems, planted trees and flowers to attract birds and butterflies. We have a few Cameroon sheep, and chickens provide us with eggs. We hope we have created a comfortable home from home and that our visitors enjoy our home as much as we do.

Why Marian Thornley chose Céret
We fell in love with Ceret the minute we cycled into it, in the summer of 2007. We were looking for unspoilt nature, wide open spaces, a warm healthy climate, access to walking trails, mountains and sea, and we found all that in this wonderful, unspoilt area. We also found a lively culture with an emphasis on art, music, food, and joie de vivre.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
We offer a unique combination of privacy and seclusion while being only a five minute drive from the charming, warm-hearted town of Ceret. Our views are second to none, and we pride ourselves on the comfort and high standard of our accommodation. We aim to provide a personal service for our guests, with extra cleaning and mountain bikes all available on request. We try to be unobtrusive but we are here to help our guests enjoy the property and the area and above all, to have a wonderful holiday

We had an amazing time staying time here. The house was spacious, clean, and the view was stunning. Our children had a great time picking apples and figs, swimming, and checking on the chickens. Marian had provided a book with recommendations for some great activities and restaurants.
Thank you for your kind review, we are so glad you had a good time and maybe see you again some time in the future!
Accommodation, grounds and caring hosts brilliant
We were lucky to find this exceptional property. We usually ignore "apartments". This is half of a large farmhouse set in extensive grounds. Lovingly restored ,spacious with high quality fittings. The hosts gave valuable advice (when asked) and their experience of the area added to our holiday. The scenery was lovely enough to provide enjoyment for days.
It is up on the hills. One needs transport.
thank you so much for your kind review Graham, we hope to see you both again some day
Incredible Tranquility 30 Minutes Drive From The Beach
Bill & Marian have created the perfect hillside getaway incredibly peaceful yet only 10 minutes drive from Céret and 30 Minutes from the hustle and bustle of Coulliere. The apartment is every bit as good as the photos show but.... It is incredibly spacious. Everything you need is here we cooked in the well equipped kitchen every day. The house was well stocked with books and dvd's and the TV worked fine for those quiet nights in. Furnishings and decoration were all well thought out. All in all we couldn't fault anything about our stay and it was as near to perfection as can be. Thank You Bill & Marion.
Thank you both! Great guests, and we hope to see you both again soon!
Absolutely magical stay!!
What a delightful and beautiful place! The apartment is huge, and all the rooms have been thoughtfully modernized and are immaculate. Gorgeous views everywhere you look. Marian and Bill are such sweet, fun, helpful people but not at all intrusive. The same can be said for the adorable built-in pets: Frank the cat and Gyp the dog. Wonderful and affectionate if you want to have them around, but disappear if you you would rather not interact with them. It's a quick drive to town, but feels so quiet and isolated on such beautiful grounds. We would stay there again in a heart beat (in fact, stay there forever in a heart beat)! There was just the two of us, but place would be perfect for two couples with room for children as well. If you are looking for a vacation rental anywhere in the area, this place really can't be beat.
Thank you, Marian and Bill, for making this beautiful space available and making our stay so enjoyable!!
Thank you both for your kind words. When guests enjoy their stay we feel such pleasure so thank you for your visit and for being great guests!
Absolutely fabulous! A glorious place to spend some time.
Our mid - September break at Mas Pallagourdi was wonderful. We loved the house- quiet and secluded, just what we were looking for. It was spacious, comfortable and really well equipped. The decor, art works, books and beautiful things all helped to make our stay memorable. Breakfast in the garden, reading on the swinging seat, relaxing by the pool, amazing views- we could wish for nothing better.
Thank you Marion and Bill. We hope to return.
Thank you Linda and Jon, we hope to see you again soon
Stunning views, and beautiful property!!
Quite possibly the most beautiful holiday property we've ever had (and we are well traveled!). Stunning views, great pool, fantastic weather, local town with everything we needed in terms of shops and restaurants but quiet enough to feel really friendly. this holiday has just re-enforced our plan to live here when we retire (well the area not the house!|). Marian & Bill couldn't have been nicer people and couldn't have done more to make us feel at home from the word go. Honestly can't recommend this property enough. Can we come back please?!!
Thank you Sally, Mark and Naomi for being such lovely guests. We hope to see you again one day.
