A one bedroom, two room apartment. Would suit a family of four as there are two bunk beds in the hallway and a good sized main bedroom with a double bed. The apartment has a west facing balcony with fabulous views down the valley to Chapelle de Abondance. There is a small cellar (cave) for ski storage which is located on the first floor of the apartment block. There is car parking for one car (external). The apartment is below the village of Châtel and is a walk uphill to the village. This is good as it is an easy walk down again.

About Mark Wilson
The apartment is owned by Mark and Emma Wilson and it is our home in the Alps. We are now a family of four! We have set up the apartment to be as child friendly as possible with some toys for younger kids and a TV with built in DVD player. There are a selection of kids DVDs which we have left in the apartment.

We purchased the apartment to give us a base in the village in the Alps we fell in love with over 10 years ago. We have made the apartment our little piece of home in the mountains. As soon as we walked into this apartment we knew it would suit us 100%.
What makes this Apartment unique
Although the apartment is only 24 square metres in size it is on the top floor of the apartment block and has a high ceiling in the lounge and give a sense of feeling larger than it actually is. The balcony is great for watching the sun go down and we regularly spend the evening waiting for a sighting of the International Space Station as it speeds across the sky.

Small, warm and excellently laid out
All aspects of this rental were to a high standard, we received clear and easy to follow instructions from the owner and enjoyed our stay, the apartment was very well equipped for me, my wife and 2 daughters.
Fabulous apartment near the village centre.
We have just returned from a fantastic week skiing with our two girls (4 and 6) in Chatel. The apartment was perfect. It was just the right size for the four of us with a fab alpine view from the balcony. It was clean, warm and there were some really nice touches : a lovely toy box for the children, local information pamphlets, books, games and DVDs. The walk uphill to the village centre took no time at all and perfectly manageable with little legs (cut across the back for a more direct route). The owners information pack arrived promptly and was clear and easy to follow. We loved this place. Best family holiday yet. We will be back.
A very cosy apartment
This apartment is small but is perfect for 2 people. it is warm, clean and comfortable and the space is used very cleverly.
The free bus service which stops outside the door and which goes into Chatel and all around the local area is great if you don't enjoy a steep uphill walk. the area is very quiet and great for sleeping, and the view from the balcony is amazing.
Apartment in Chatel
We had a fabulous and very snowy stay in this warm and well appointed apartment, which is well equipped. There is an amazing use of space, a great shower which is very powerful, ample hot water and a comfy bed.
Parking is easy (and free) and we particularly appreciated the ski bus stoping right outside. Being January it was never too crowded and we never seemed to wait more than a few minutes. This gave us direct access to Super Chatel, Linga and Pre La Joux for access to the whole of the Portes du Soleil for some great skiing and we were able to take advantage of the new lift which joins Chatel to Linga.
If travelling by car (in January at least) we would definitely advise snow chains as an essential!
We felt so at home here, and Marks' welcome pack and instructions on arrival made everything so easy.
We would love to stay again and would definitely recommend it.
We stayed in this apartment to access the large Porte Du Soleil ski area. Apartment was warm & comfortable with fantastic views down the valley. Well equipped, clean & relaxing the accommodation proved a perfect base for a fantastic holiday. The short yet steep climb to town centre was made frequently for meals out. On a morning however when carrying equipment or wearing ski boots we would simply wait for the regular free ski buses which pass in front of the apartment. After departing the bus at Pre-La-Joux we travelled into Avoriaz, Les Crosets, Morzine & even as far as Les Gets.
Chatel had a number of fine restaurants & bars whist retaining a traditional rustic alpine feel.
Booking process, key transaction, information pack etc. all provided seamlessly by an accommodating owner - a pleasure to deal with.
Wonderful apartment and made very welcoming by Mark & Emma. Couldn't fault it as it had all the facilities that we needed. It was only a short distance from the centre of the village but, the 'Navette' (free bus) stopped regularly right outside to take us up and back down the hill. That said it was only a 6 or 7 minute walk if you were up for it. Chatel is a beautiful resort, typical Savoie and not built up like some of the higher stations. We would highly recommend and will look to return ourselves.
Châtel is approximately a 90 minute drive from Geneva airport and a good 10 hour drive from Calais.

Booking Notes: Upon making a booking it will be necessary for a rental contract to be signed and for a deposit of £100 to be paid. Until the contract and deposit are received the apartment will be available for booking. If you wish to pay by credit card via OwnersDirect there will be a 2% additional charge to cover the charge made by OwnersDirect to me. The rental fee will have to be paid one month before the arrival date. The apartment keys and information pack will be sent by recorded post 14 days before the commencement of the rental. Changeover Day: The preferred changeover day is Saturday. Arrival not before 2pm and departure must be before 11am.
