About the property

2 Bd 1 Ba Double Parlor Vic on Tree-lined Street (Pricing geared for month-plus)

Gorgeous high-ceilinged double parlor Victorian apartment in stately 1905 owner-occupied two-family on Spring Hill. Beautiful original detail preserved but with important updates such as a brand new heating system and plenty of outlets.

I will do short term but would be happy too to have a three or six month tenant - ask me for details, I'm flexible but prefer month-plus stays. The bedrooms will have a queen and a full bed respectively and there will be a single sized pullout in the larger bedroom plus an available air mattress for additional guests in the LR. *All guests must be listed at time of booking.* Any additional guests by express approval of owner only; may be subject to additional guest fee.

Come see this elegant home situated walking distance between three thriving squares: Davis/Porter/Union all just under a mile away.

Three Little Figs for your cappuccino and Highland Kitchen for your ale and trout and kale are a five-minute stroll, as is Once/Cuisine en Locale for great live shows, and the Somerville winter farmer's market is but a block away--who needs Whole Foods! But if you do there is a new one on Beacon just five minutes drive. Or head down to Davis for great cinema, restaurants, bars, brunch places etc.

Enjoy the sun on the front porch every morning and the shady little backyard patio all summer.

About Kai Quinlan

I work in film and am conversant in English, French and Spanish. I look forward to hearing from you!

Kai Quinlan purchased this apartment in 2012

Why Kai Quinlan chose Spring Hill

You can walk to Davis Sq, Union Sq and Porter Sq. You can walk or Bike or take public transit to Harvard, MIT and Tufts. The flat is spacious, stylish and convenient - with gorgeous, classical bones and expected modern conveniences, too.

What makes this apartment unique

This house has really good bones. I love the classic layout and flow of the place, the little garden. But most of all I love where it is. The neighborhood is friendly, kinda hipstery, but with a good generational skew still. Quiet! But close to all the good stuff. Davis Square is great and less than a mile away - so is Union Square and Porter Square, too. Right here in the neighborhood in a five minutes walk you have really good cappuccino and pastries at Three Little Figs, yummy dinner and ale (and great brunches) at The Highland Kitchen - and if you want music go to a show at Once/Cuisine en Locale! You can also walk to farmer's markets for organic produce all year round. And there's nearly always a festival going on in the squares in the fair weather seasons.

Adorable apartment in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Bright and beautiful apartment with lots of space and everything you would need for your stay. Kai was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. It is so nice to have the comforts of home while traveling. The location worked well for me with a nice walk to the T and bike path or a short Uber ride to wherever I needed to go.

Gorgeous space!

  • 5 of 5

This may be the best apartment we have found through VRBO. The owner has thought of everything, from bedroom slippers to umbrellas by the front door to a welcome box of cookies and bottle of wine. The kitchen has all the essentials and then some. The beds are cozy and comfortable. Plenty of towels and toiletries in the bathroom. LOTS of room to spread out, cutely decorated. The neighborhood is cute and very walkable. All in all, highly recommended, and we know where we will try to stay next time we visit Boston!

Spacious apartment close to Davis Square and Porter Square

  • 5 of 5

Genuinely surprised by how much space we had to enjoy. The house has all the charm of the Victorian era with complete modern amenities. Welcoming kitchen to start the day. The house was very clean, all the linens were comfortable and high-quality in feel. Davis Square is a 15 minute walk and the same for Porter. Being close to Three Little Figs is the biggest plus.

Lovely home, spacious and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, lovely home, and we were thrilled to base our time in Sommerville at Kai's spotless place. The apartment is quite spacious with plenty of room to stretch out, and well stocked with appliances and everything one would need for a stay long or short. It's a bit of a walk to the T, but not bad and we loved the location in a quiet neighborhood.

Somerville just may be the most interesting 4.1 square miles in New England. Next door to both Boston and Cambridge, Somerville is not just close to the abundance of history, high tech, top schools, and culture the Boston area offers, it's a central part of it. George Washington raised the first U.S. flag here, and today Somerville's truly diverse population of 76,000 spans all walks of life and hails from across the globe (52 languages are spoken by students at the high school). The City is known for its thriving restaurant scene, its many ethnic markets, a proud blue-collar heritage, a large academic and high-tech population (drawn by Harvard, MIT, and Tufts), and its active arts community (more artists per square mile live here than in any U.S. city other than NYC).
