Lovely house. Very well equipped. So many different places to sit with fabulous views.
We had a lovely holiday in Argaka. It is a great base to explore the surrounding areas. We went on several different walks and also visited the ruins at Paphos. There are numerous restaurants nearby. The house was spotless and beds comfortable. We even found a yoga teacher in Polis.
Thank you for your lovely review, I hope you will visit us again soon
The house is lovely, modern, comfortable and very clean. The only reason I have given 4 stars instead of 5 is that a dishwasher would be nice but then we knew that it didn't have one before we went so perhaps I am being a little unfair. Other than that it has everything you need. It has a good sized terrace outside the main living area with patio table and sun loungers but the added bonus is it has little verandas with seating outside each bedroom and a large roof terrace. Take your pick where you want to sit. The area is very quiet, ideal for relaxing so not for those people who want something lively. Car hire is essential. The local town (Polis) has several restaurants, some typically cater for tourists such as Moustakallis but Archontariki and The Old Town are well worth a visit. They both have lovely dining areas at the back with a nice ambience and delicious food. Maybe slightly more expensive than the run of the mill ones such as Moustakallis but well worth it. For those that like to sightsee then Kykkos Monastery is a must. So beautiful and so much gold! It is high up in the mountains but the roads are good and the views are just fantastic. The Tombs of the Kings in Paphos are worth a visit, very interesting and kids will love exploring them. I can't say that the Sanctuary of Aphrodite did much for me as there wasn't a lot there but there is a good little museum on site and the little village of Kouklia where it is situated has some nice tavernas, Gabriel's food was especially good and they are so welcoming and friendly. If you are looking for silver or lace then a trip to Pano Lefkara is the place. Loads of shops selling both. Quite a nice village but quite touristy too. We enjoyed just getting out and about in the car and stopping at some of the lovely villages we found and having lunch at a traditional taverna rather than the restaurants who are obviously mainly catering for tourists. We have always found that if a place is frequented by the locals then it's usually a pretty good bet that the food is good. All in all Cyprus in general is beautiful with such lovely friendly people.
Well appointed, spotlessly clean, highly recommended
Summed up In one Word - Paradise.
My Wife and I stayed at MrsT’s for three weeks during the period, 11th Sept to 2nd October.
It was our second visit to this particular complex (Akamas Village) in the last 12 months , having stayed at a different Townhouse last year.
What an absolute treat.
Everything perfectly as described. Comfortable, beautifully furnished, with all mod cons / utensils you could possibly need.
The views from both the front and back of the Townhouse are magnificent. The front view being over the mountains, the rear view over the sea.
Some of the most spectacular sunsets over the peninsular are to be enjoyed in the evening.
This Townhouse is a real credit to its current owners.
Will we be going back to Mrs T’s? .....................................You bet!
The local beach, restaurants, bakery and shop is a five minute drive or a 15 to 20 minute walk away. The area has many trails suitable for both walking, cycling including a lovely trail through the pine forest taking in the Argaka dam.
The drive from Paphos airport takes approximately 1 hour its a beautiful and scenic journey through small villages and over hills.
Car hire is essential, and can be found easily over the internet, we can help with these details along with directions to the house.
Polis is a short drive away where you can find excellent Cypriot restaurants and cafe bars. The area is ideal for walking, cycling swimming, snorkelling, sailing and many more activities.
Latchi is another 5 minutes drive from Polis where you can sit and relax on the harbour front and watch the boats coming and going or you can hire a boat and head out to the blue lagoon along the dramatic coast line with its warm waters its a perfect place to relax.
For wine lovers you can follow the wine routes viewing the wineries and tasting the local wines. Other attractions include the Baths of Aphrodite where according to Greek mythology the goddess of love bathed. The Akamas peninsula is an ideal area for cycling, hiking or taking a Jeep safari with some breathtaking views along the many coastal paths with access to secluded beaches and the beaches of Lara on the west coast with some of the last remaining nesting grounds for the green loggerhead turtles.
