Lovely secluded and quiet spot. Cosy and comfortable cottage.
Really enjoyed our holiday. Property was small but well designed and, though one of row of five, was masked from the others by trees etc so felt secluded and private. Excellent for dog owners like us with woods and fields adjacent. As the bedrooms are small and the double has no space for a wardrobe, perhaps a hook or two behind the door would be helpful. Likewise in the bathroom. Phone signal and internet was dodgy but we were in a valley so only to be expected. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, and the cream tea on arrival was a nice added bonus! We’ll certainly go again.
Really glad you enjoyed your stay, just to let you know we are now in the process of totally upgrading the free WiFi to a much faster speed.
Kind Regards, from the team at Mineshop
Very enjoyable stay in this charming rural idyll a walking distance to the beach and stunning coastal path. Ben could not have been more helpful - very kindly advising me on all the best beaches for swimming and waving away a glass I had accidentally broken (where other places would probably charge). A friendly, yet unobtrusive atmosphere. Would definitely recommend as a base for anyone wanting to explore this beautiful part of the country.
Many thanks for the review, really glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Mineshop.
Kind Regards, Ben and all the team at Mineshop
We all had a wonderful stay and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Very nice location with plenty of areas to stretch your legs, walking through the woods and meadows. The beach is a short car drive away, you can also walk to the beach if feeling energetic. The cottage had everything you would need for the family
We had a lovely break in this peaceful location..
It was difficult to find in the dark and instructions to find were a little misleading..
They have an intermittent WiFi which cannot support even browsing weather sometimes which is frustrating since we neede to keep in contact with our kids whilst away and there is zero phone signal for many networks..
Hi, many thanks for the review, we are sorry you found the Cottage hard to find, a shame you arrived so late things are always easier in daylight.
As for the WiFi, we are looking into installing a new system for 2019 this will make the signal a lot better.
Glad you enjoyed your stay with us in this amazing location.
Kind Regards, from all at Mineshop
Nice and quite very relaxing, pleasant walk to beach, good central location, however lack of hanging space for 4 people idea for 2 people no wardrobe in double bedroom
Very cute, not flashy, comfy & very clean
A perfect little base to explore the cornish coastline. 8 ish miles from Bude, 35 from Padstow & 38 from Newquay.
A quote from 'The Sunday Times'........
'We can argue all day whether or not Crackington is the prettiest beach in Cornwall, but we will agree that the cottages at Mineshop are a National Treasure'
Crackington Haven is the nearest beach to Mineshop, it is an easy 1 mile stroll through the fields and woodland path. Here you will also find a fantastic Cornish Inn, and two fabulous cafes/shops.
Millook, Widemouth Bay, Bude, Summerleaze, Crooklets, Strangles, Bossiney, and there are so many other unknown coves that are quiet year round that we are happy to point you in the direction of.
Due to our extremely secluded and rural location we do recommend that you have a car.
However, our nearest airport is Newquay, nearest train station is Bodmin Parkway, and there is a bus service and many taxis that operate in the area. If this is an option for you please contact us and we will try to help you in any way that we can.
Bude is 7 Miles to the North of Mineshop, Boscastle is 5 miles to the South
The nearest local shops are 1 and 2 miles away, the closest supermarket is in Bude which has Morrisons, Co-Op and Sainsburys. It is possible to get Asda to deliver groceries to the property, if you intend to do this please let us know and we'll point them in the right direction when they arrive.
