Fab house - shame we didn’t get any nice sunsets!
Lovely house, glass ceiling is awesome feature... great view- although slightly obscured by cafe!! Enjoyed the jacuzzi bath and wet room & loved the open plan living with window seats over looking beach. Felt larger inside than photos depicted... especially the upstairs balcony room. Shame weather wasn’t as sunny as we’d hoped- but that’s England for you!! WiFi very intermittent and no phone signal at all- so be prepared to keep re setting WiFi or take a walk into town for phone calls etc. All in all a very enjoyable holiday home... great location and fun place to people watch if weather bad!! Miss hearing the waves at night 😊🌊
Spacious, light, QUIET!!! property
A rather overdue review! We have now stayed here for a few breaks which should say a lot about the property.
This is without doubt the most spacious property we have had the pleasure to stay in (especially with 7 people!) in St.Ives. The first thing to note is how quiet it is - The seagull noise is so so much quieter here than even 75 yards further in land!
You are literally 20 yards from getting on the beach - over the road and down the steps, onto Porthmeor. The views of the bay are lovely, although last year porthmeor café had built a roof at just the wrong height which obscures some of the bay :-( , though if sea-watching is your thing, the view from the veranda is brilliant. As has been mentioned sunsets are fantastic.
It has been spotless whenever we have been and the owner has always been in contact to ensure that everything was ok when we got there.
Really couldn't ask for much more
Great location and spacious property, however, repairs required
Two bedrooms do not have blinds or curtains, so as soon as the sun rises, you are awake.
We could not open the windows in the upstairs bathroom and the shower was extremely hot, there must be something wrong with the temperature control. On the day we arrived, there was a very unpleasant smell in this bathroom (I presume from the drain). We bought a bottle of bleach which sorted the issue.
Only one of the four windows in the lounge opened (facing the beach).
Great house in fantastic location close to sea, town and restaurants.
We stayed in this unusual character house over New Year. It was across from the sea with fabulous views over the beach. Within walking distance of town and harbour.
Brilliant house and perfect location
brilliant location and wonderful house
Location great. Could have been cleaner
The house has a fabulous position and is large for St Ives. We've stayed here before and whilst we still had a great trip its starting to feel a little shabby. Sofa's has seen better days and there had been no cleaning under the beds or sofa for quite some time by the look of the accumulated sand and dust.
Right on Porthmeor beach, a glorious sandy beach, popular in summer but also providing year-round entertainment for surfers with spectacular sunsets. The Beach cafe and surf school are also located here.
