Villa in Kalkan, Mediterranean Region, Turkey - Peaceful Location 5 Mins Walk To Kalamar Beach Club And 20 Mins To Kalkan
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
Our family holiday was for 7 people ranging from 19 to 76 and the Villa provided a super base for everyone. It was spotlessly clean and perfectly maintained. One of our sons also accidentally pulled a dressing table off the wall and the villa owner had a chap there within an hour to repair the damage (at no cost!). Kalkan itself is a lovely town with a very good selection of restaurants and bars. There were 2 or 3 bars more focused on the younger adults where they could dance but most were based on restaurants. The habour has lots of boat trips on offer - we did the one that went around the bay which was really good value (about £12 inc lunch and took all day). We also went to Saklikent Gorge which was really good and to the ancient ruins at Tlos - we had a hire car but there are plenty pf organised trips going from the town. The only point to note is the town is about a 25 min walk which starts with quite a steep hill from the Villa. No problem for most but Grandad found it a bit of a struggle! All in all a fabulous villa in a fantastic resort - we will be back!
The Villa was just as we expected from the pictures, great view, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. The pool is a good size and the area around the pool is great. Everything was very clean and well equipped. It is quite a walk into the main town and very steep hills so I would advice you to get a car, although the taxi service was very good and not too expensive. There is a restaurant which is only 5 minutes walk away called House Cafe and Bar which was really nice and very reasonably priced. You can also walk about 10 mins to Kalamar Beach Club, where you can get food and a few water sports.Would definately stay here again when visiting Kalkan.
Great family vacation
Villa Ruzgar exceeded our expectations… My family stayed here for a week and thoroughly fell in love with Kalkan, the villa was perfect for our 3 children and with the beach club a 5min walk away what more could we ask for. The villa was finished to a very high standard and provided a lovely setting for both adults and children. The communications we had with the manager & owner prior to our arrival and then during the stay were delightful, nothing was too much trouble. We would not hesitate in recommending Villa Ruzgar to anyone considering a vacation in Kalkan.
First time in Kalkan
Kalkan, we've fallen in love with the place and the people. The villa was immaculate on arrival, welcome hamper was a lovely touch especially arriving late at night. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The whole villa was very impressive and beautifully furnished throughout, we couldn't fault anything. We have very fond memories of our stay here and would highly recommend to others. The added bonus with this villa is the stunning beach club just a couple of minutes walk away. All in all a most memorable and enjoyable holiday - see you next year!!!
Delightful Stay at Villa Ruzgar
The villa was fabulous and we were most impressed with layout and space. The bedrooms were spacious and unique and we all felt in the lap of luxury. If anything it was even more impressive than the photos. It was great to be near the beach club and the hotel just down the hill and we used both. This was our first time in Kalkan and we loved it and did a lot of just chilling by the pool so didn't even hire a car. Many thanks for such a splendid place.
The villa is 100 metres from the sea and less than 5 mins walk from Kalamar beach club. Kalkan has 7 beach clubs in stunning locations. Alternatively, a 10 minute dolmus ride (local minibus service) will take you to beautiful Kaputas beach, or a 20 minute ride takes you to famous Patara beach with its 18km of white sand. Patara beach, set in a national park, has been voted one of the Meds most beautiful and undiscovered beaches. Olu Deniz, Turkey's most photographed beach, is an hour's drive.
The nearest airport is Dalaman (approx 1.5 hour drive) and flights are direct from the UK. Transfer to and from the airport is usually by private taxi or minibus. We can arrange transfers and car hire from Kalkan at very reasonable prices.
Kalkan town centre, 5 mins drive, 20 mins walk. Kaputas beach, 15 min drive. Patara beach, 25 min drive. Kas, 35 min drive. Fethiye, 1 hour drive. Other local attractions are easily accessible, such as Xanthos (the ancient capital of Lycia), the sunken city of Kekova, the ghost town of Kayakoy, the rock tombs of Tlos, Demre and the Church of St Nicholas (Father Christmas), the mountain villages of Islamlar and Bezirgan, and Saklikent Gorge. Daily boat trips are available from the harbour.
The idyllic town of Kalkan on Turkey's dramatic Lycian coastline nestles in the Taurus Mountains above a small, picturesque harbour. Its enchanting narrow streets lined with small shops, local restaurants and listed whitewashed houses with shuttered windows and carved timber balconies tumbling with bougainvillea, twist down to an ancient harbour. From here, overlooked by a tiny white mosque, the fish are brought ashore in the morning and the wooden gullets sail out on their day trips around the bays and outlying islands.
The climate in Turkey is similar to southern California, and the sea is the colour of turquoise. Whether you want to relax by your own pool or on sun-drenched beaches, visit ancient sites, shop at bargain prices for real gold jewellery or fake designer labels, there is something here for everyone. There is also a good range of sports available, including: diving, snorkeling, water-skiing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, sailing, horse riding, sea cayaking, canoeing, paragliding, and more.??For food lovers, Kalkan offers some of the best food in Turkey, either from its traditional locantas, the harbour-front restaurants, or on the romantic roof terraces for which Kalkan is famous. Or visit the trout restaurants of Islamlar, the mountain village above Kalkan, where the trout pools are fed by mountain springs. ??Kalkan is a friendly, picture-postcard pretty, town that despite its increasing popularity and sophistication has retained its charm. No wonder so many holiday makers return to Kalkan year after year.
