This holday bungalow can accommodate 4 people in two bedrooms. It is comfortable, clean and bright with spectacular views of the Needles and only 3 minutes walk to a safe beach. The round-the-Island coastal path passes through the site, within a few steps of the bungalow. Brambles Chine is a 40 acre site of privately owned semi-detached holiday bungalows surrounded by well tended lawns. It is in a peaceful location, approached by an unmade up road. The site facilities include a small shop, launderette, pitch and putt, crazy golf, grass tennis court, football pitch, swings and more but this bungalow is in a very quiet part of the site, on the opposite side from the recreation area.

About Margaret Matthews
I grew up on the Isle of Wight and, although I spent my working life on the mainland, I always retained a nostalgic affection for "the Island". In 2011, following retirement and serious illness, I was able to buy this bungalow as a peaceful retreat to help with my recovery. Now that I am well again I have resumed my hobby of spending extended periods motorcaravanning and this is why I have decided to let my bungalow so that it can be enjoyed by other people rather than leaving it standing empty.
Margaret Matthews purchased this Bungalow in 2011
Why Margaret Matthews chose Freshwater
Brambles Chine was an ideal choice, being very easily reached from Yarmouth. It is on the quieter side of the Island and, of course, the location and views cannot be beaten. The particular bungalow I chose is in a secluded and peaceful part of the site which appealed to me.
What makes this Bungalow unique
The property is ideal as a base for gentle or strenuous walking, cycling or sailing activities, for visiting all the attractions which the Island has to offer, or just for enjoying the peace and quiet and the beautiful views.
Great location for a peaceful relaxing holiday with sea views .
We had a lovely holiday in freshwater and just a couple of minutes from the sea front. The bungalow was nice and comfortable with everything you need to make our stay just right for us. The weather was just fantastic a great bonus what more do you need like being in paradise. Great walks and the beach on your doorstep just perfect we didn’t want to leave so planning to return already.
Would not recommend.
Various items in chalet very grubby. Lovely quite area.
I was very sad to receive this review particularly as it is the first time in 5 years that the standard of cleanliness has been criticised like this. I have replaced the lounge rug which appeared to be your main concern. I hope it didn't spoil your holiday and that you still managed to enjoy yourselves.
Great little property fabulous location
So close to the beautiful sandy beach. Well presented and stocked bungalow. Very pleased with our stay and Margaret very helpful.
fantastic bungalow and location
You often see pictures of amazing views that require a long walk ... this was the view from the breakfast table every day. It put us in the mood for walking every time. The site was perfectly positioned for easy walks to Freshwater and Yarmouth, and we did manage a couple of big walks as well over Compton Down and from Cowes to Yarmouth. On the latter it got dark, really dark, whilst walking through Bouldnor Forest but it was exhilarating. The bungalow had everything you need plus the bottle of wine on arrival was a rare treat.
Quiet, clean and comfortable. Home from home
The bungalow was great, wonderful sea view and close to the beach. Everything you need for a relaxing time, especially the thoughtful extras like milk tea and coffee and not forgetting the wine!. All attractions were easy to get to and the information leaflets left were an inspiration :-) We had a great time and would highly recommend a stay here.
Nice location, great place
We enjoyed our visit to the IOW and the chalet was nice and comfey, we could not have asked for better!
3 minutes on foot to the beach.
Brambles Chine is a ten minute drive from the Wight Link ferry terminal at Yarmouth (from Lymington). Early booking is recommended.
It is possible to walk to it via the coastal path in 40 minutes and there are excellent bus services on the Isle of Wight but a car is recommended for maximum benefit.
Totland and Freshwater are about two miles away and Yarmouth is about 3.
Nowhere is very far from anywhere else on the Isle of Wight and it is possible to enjoy all the Island attractions from this bungalow by car or excellent bus service. Close at hand there is Freshwater with a variety of local shops and 2 small supermarkets (Coop and Sainsburys), a hairdresser, library and Leisure Centre including swimming pool. Lots of places to eat including restaurants, cafes and takeaway shops. Yarmouth has fewer, more specialised shops and caters more for tourists with many cafes, restaurants and hotels. Colwell Bay is a ten minute walk along the beach providing a beach shop and two tea rooms.
No pets. Unfortunately the site rules permit only owners' pets in the bungalows.
