About Sandra & Andrew Peskin
We moved to France from London six years ago. Our two children live in London but visit us frequently. We share our life in the Alpilles with our four dogs. We love our life here and have made many new friends. We would be thrilled for you to come and sample a little bit of our dream here in Provence. We are sure that you will love every minute as much as we do.
Sandra & Andrew Peskin purchased this House in 2010
Why Sandra & Andrew Peskin chose Mas-Blanc-des-Alpilles
We are true Francophiles and had holidayed for many years in this area and other parts of the South of France. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and remains unspoilt. There are many festivals throughout the summer celebrating local culture.

Saint Remy Vacation - best rental
Wonderful home for a stay in Saint Remy. Very comfortable and the grounds are lovely. Best of all the owners were very helpful in ensuring that our stay was the best it could be.
It was a pleasure having you to stay.
Wonderful villa in a great location
We had an awesome stay at Mas la Belugo, recommend it wholeheartedly and are ourselves already planning a return next year.
Key Positives -
Overall villa design/layout. The main downstairs living area is a wonderful space linking kitchen, dining room, hallway and living room, with a TV room down a small passageway and a convenient downstairs bedroom. Upstairs, each bedroom is an excellent size - there are no miniature bedrooms here. There are multiple outside spaces but our favourite is an outside dining area just outside the kitchen door. It's in dappled shade in the late afternoon and early evening and made a wonderful space for al fresco dining - easy to bring the food out from the kitchen, comfortable and fantastically 'Provencale'.
Checking in and Checking out. Unlike other villas we've stayed in, we were greeted on arrival by Sandra (the owner) who provided excellent advice on the best local shops and good local restaurants, as well as a comprehensive introduction to the villa and its facilities. Getting this personalised guidance really set us up well from the start. There was a follow-up text message the next morning to check how we were settling in, and then a coordinated check-out during which we could give all feedback. The overall effect is that you feel you are in the hands of someone who genuinely cares about your experience and uses your input to constantly improve the villa.
The location. It's hard to imagine a better location from which to explore this particular part of Provence. St Remy is only 5 minutes away (and is charming), but we were particularly taken with St Etienne-du-Gres which is even closer and which has an excellent baker, butcher and greengrocer. The cities of Arles, Aix and Avignon are all close by and day trips that we did into the Luberon and down to the coast were also effortless. The area is replete with fantastic places to eat. Lastly, the access to the villa is on a good paved road, just a short drive from a main D road.
Key negatives -
We had almost nothing to complain about. The only point we would raise is that it would have been nice if the pool were heated. The pool is large (and nicely deep) but this also means that even on a warm day it stays quite cold.
Also worth noting is that, in common with the rest of the French countryside, the wifi is not very fast (don't count on streaming Netflix!). There is however an excellent 4G signal at the villa.
Overall, a big thumbs up for Mas la Belugo!
Classic stay in Provence
Very comfortable property. Great kitchen if you intend to cook from the abundance of good food from the markets. Relaxing bedrooms with plenty of bathrooms for privacy. Gorgeous grounds with large pool. Owners there to help if needed or will just let you get on with it. Excellent base to explore Provence - Pont du Gard, Avignon, Arles and St Remy -to name a few, though you may not want to leave this well designed country retreat..
An excellent house for family holiday!
The house is well furnished and equipped, and ideal for 3 generations to have a fun time. The children spent most of the week in the pool and very spacious garden. Kitchen very well equipped and owner helped us organise a chef for some nights. The house was well maintained and clean. The owners was extremely helpful and responsive to messages. We enjoyed strolling around St Remy de Provence for morning croissants and coffee!
It was a very successful holiday.
This was our second stay.
The perfect Villa holiday.
Before we arrived, we were expecting to be impressed with the Villa and its setting. In fact the whole ambience was perfect; the pool and surrounding gardens were in beautiful condition, the Villa itself was spacious with good sized bedrooms and en suite bathrooms and in immaculate condition. The lounge and dinning room would have been comfortable for our whole party of 11 but with 7 days of perfect weather, we ate and socialised outside at the poolside dinning table and in the bbq area.
The kitchen was extremely well stocked with cutlery, plates, implements etc. Two fridges, deep freeze, two dishwashers and a washing machine made life easy.
Our host, the owner, could not have been more helpful in showing us around and explaining how everything worked. She also helped make restaurant bookings at the local restaurant and at one in St Remy both of which were well suited to our party's needs and she answered all our many questions on local shops and other facilities. It was reassuring to know that she was available at the end of the phone to help when necessary.
We had a memorable holiday in a Villa which exceeded expectation.
Fantastic stay at Mas la Belugo
This was our second visit to Mas la Belugo and it's starting to feel like home!
The house is so well equipped and the layout is perfect for our party of grown up children - everyone can have their privacy yet come together to relax and enjoy long lunches inside or out in the peaceful garden.
Sandra's local knowledge is absolutely invaluable and she also managed to secure us a table at a popular restaurant at very short notice. We visited the Picasso exhibition at Carrieres de Lumieres which was incredible! All in all a perfect and restorative week and we hope to return next year!
