lovely cottage in a pretty and quiet village
The cottage is pretty with three nice bedrooms, one of which is on ground floor level which is handy for anyone with mobility issues. Its tastefully decorated and feels very homely. The carpet is lovely - great for walking on bare foot! The kitchen diner lends itself to sociable family meals (and preparation of the meals). The garden catches the afternoon sun and has a table and chairs on a patio. There is only one bathroom but each upstairs bedroom has a small sink and loo ensuite. Quality bedding and very comfy mattresses. Wifi is a bit slow and we had no mobile phone signal - I went out into the village square and sat on one of the many benches to make calls. The village of Youlgrave is a mile away which can be walked to via a footpath along the river, however there is a steep decent and climb at each end. Great pub in Youlgrave - I would advise booking. All in all we had a great family break.
Thank you taking the time to write such a lovely review. We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay . Indeed the WiFi issue is problematic in the Derbyshire area generally frustrating as it can be intermittent at times.
Look forward to seeing you again sometime.

A lovely cottage hidden in a quaint little English village. Plenty of space for our family getaway. All the things you need, a home from home. A short drive away from adventure for the kids or a nice bit of shopping. Lovely walks on the doorstep for the energetic and a lovely garden for the ones who preferred relaxing. Oh, and the dog loved it too...
Everything was perfect. Highly recommended.
Great wedding stopover.
Simple, ideal for family plus grand parents
Beautiful peak district stay
This is the second time we've stayed at this property. It is a gorgeous property and has a number of breaktaking walks from the village
A lovely large cottage hidden away. It was clean and had most things we needed. The location was fab and there was a little children’s play area just over the square. Monica was very helpful as I had loads of questions beforehand. I would recommend the cottage and would love to visit again.
Thanks Sara for taking the trouble to write a review so glad you enjoyed your stay at The Forge and all was well. Look forward to seeing you again.
