About Judith Hurford
Julian, myself and 3 children live here at Farwood Barton, Julian was born here, and I moved here when we got married. Julian runs the dairy herd and helps out with the holiday cottages. I run the holiday cottages and do the farm accounts. We live here with 190 dairy cows, approx 40 calves most of the year, with some sheep during the winter, 2 cats Spoldge and Trixey, a working dog called Rex who love catching the ball with the visitors!
Why Judith Hurford chose Colyton
Farwood Barton is a working dairy farm, the farm has been in the family for 3 generations, the original farm buildings in the Victorian Court Yard had got out of date for modern farming practices, they were crying out to be converted in to holiday lets. We converted them in 2009, we now enjoy having visitors staying with us and sharing our beautiful location. We as a family love living here in the countryside, we enjoy everything the countryside has to offer us, our livelihood, the quietness, our own space, the views, we still enjoy waking up every morning looking out to the wonderful view over the Coly Valley and beyond, summer or winter.
What makes this Cottage unique
Farwood Barton gives you high quality, modern, accommodation, hidden from the hustle and bustle of life, whilst being close to the Jurassic Coast beaches and road links into the South West:- A30, A303, A35, A3035 and M5. We want everyone to have a truly relaxing stay, and to leave feeling refreshed after a memorable time here at Farwood Barton.

communication from our hosts.
Well designed, clean and warm.
We enjoyed our stay as the parking was just outside, the bathroom is always warm and there are views out of both windows. Everything else was modern and fine.
Fantastic cosy accommodation for a family holiday in stunning location.
Everything you need to unwind for a week but still only ten minutes to the coast. Great hosts with cream tea and fresh milk on arrival.
Lovely cottages in a great setting
Fantastic setting with superb facilities. Our cottage had all the charm with all the modern comforts. A million miles from everywhere but close to tourist sights and practical things like a supermarket. Cream Tea and farm milk on arrival a very nice touch. Farm dogs Doug and Rex are lovely and enjoy a game. Super lawn area to run your dog. Lots of things for the kids and big kids in the games barn. Had a fab time and sure to be back.
Ideal location for access to the seaside towns of Seaton, Lyme Regis, Beer etc.
Only 4 miles from Honiton but set in the quiet peaceful countryside of rural Devon with fabulous views. The only sound to be heard was the occasional moo from the farm cows. Very well equipped cottage, clean and tidy with everything we needed for our two week stay. As a bonus, on arrival we were presented with scones - freshly made by Judith our very welcoming host - accompanied by jam and cream.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to anyone who wants a quiet relaxing holiday but withing easy reach of seaside locations.
Loved The Apple Loft, will miss those views!
Clean & comfortable accommodation with lovely original features. A good base for our explorations! Enjoyed a few cold beers each night outside, enjoying the birds & then the stars.
