5 bedroom character barn with all mod cons set in open countryside
About Janice Hogan
I grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland and my husband, Dave, is from Wales. I am documentary film director and Dave is a well-established photographer. We live in north London with our family, and Hollybush is our much-loved, get-away-from-it all, in the glorious Suffolk countryside.
Janice Hogan purchased this Barn in 2004
Why Janice Hogan chose Brampton
We stumbled across the barn while driving through the Suffolk countryside. At that point it was a near tumble-down wreck. The outer doors were held together by string, the cow's original trough was still intact. But you could immediately see that it would be a magnificent building once restored, and the setting was magical - miles of fields all around. Our reverie was suddenly interrupted by the farmer - accompanied by his son and shotgun! He thought we had come to steal the pantile tiles off the roof. One year later, our "dream" was complete and we've had many happy vacations there ever since.
What makes this Barn unique
Perfect location for hosting a large group of friends and/or family. There's enough room that everyone feels they have space. Ample room for children to run around safely, and quiet spots for adults to retreat to. Sunny evening on the patio overlooking the fields with a glass of wine are a perfect end to the day!

Hen Party -
Organizing a hen party can be difficult most of the time but when I found this property online I couldn't believe my luck. The property was spotless and I loved the added touch of the biscuits on the side and milk in the fridge. I asked the property manager about hiring a hot tub and she couldn't have been more helpful sending links and numbers to a regular supplier she uses - the hot tub was all set up and ready to use when we got there! I was also sent a guide to the barn which included local places to visit, places for dinner and drinks. We had planed to stay within the barn and unfortunately we had rain on the Saturday but it didnt impact our stay. With enough room for all 12 of us to sit round the grand table inside we had our afternoon tea and when the weather perked up we had hen games in the garden and jumped straight in the hot tub! Over all I cant fault the property its such a beautiful place to stay, fully equipped with your every need! I would highly recommend staying here and maybe be back to stay for Christmas!
Thank you Julie and Janice xoxo
We had a fantastic few days in this gorgeous barn conversion. It's a great location with lots to see and do nearby (with a car). Quite secluded which suited us just fine. The open plan makes the property great for groups and it was well stocked for our arrival.
Fourteen of us (4 families) stayed for the weekend to celebrate my 50th. Beautiful views, lovely barn, a garden at the front and back with space to run about and play games, large patio with bbq and a well equipped kitchen. This was the perfect venue for us!
Stunning barn in a beautiful setting
This is an absolute gem of a property in a beautiful part of Suffolk. We were a group of four families there to celebrate our 40th birthdays and we could not have picked a better place - people spent most of the first day just commenting on how brilliant it is! The kitchen too is very well appointed so very easy to self-cater. Easy driving distance too from some lovely local towns including Southwold and Walberswick. Could not recommend this place enough.
Perfect space for a get away with friends
We had a fantastic time at the barn. It is a perfect space for a gathering. 13 of us stayed to celebrate a friends 30th birthday.
The barn had everything we could have needed. Plenty of space inside and out. The barn is so welcoming and homely.
Julie was a perfect host. Friendly, helpful and a true credit to running the place. Thanks for a great weekend
The barn is beautifully done up and a really big space. There were 12 of us and it was perfect. the kitchen has everything you could need and the log fire in the sitting room made it super cosy. Julie the housekeeper was incredibly helpful and very flexible about timings which made dcdything very easy. We will be returning.
