Is the annex to the farmhouse, sleeps 2 & has a sofa bed in the bedroom. This cottage is large enough to comfortable accommodate 2 adults and 2 children with plenty of room for a travel cot as well if required. This conversion from an outhouse is very cosy and is arranged as follows - on the ground floor a fully equipped kitchen, separate living and dining areas and bathroom. The first floor bedroom is deceptively spacious and contains a large four-poster, 2 seater sofa bed as well as adequate room for the cot. This cottage also offers fridge/freezer, microwave, TV, cd player, radio/tape/cd player, and washing machine.
Primrose Cottage Sleeps 4 (1 Bedroom)
Allender Farm is situated at the end of a long attractive drive of half a mile and offers outstanding views of the Lee Valley and surrounding countryside. Set in delightful grounds of just over 3 acres, the property offers the seclusion of the country, for those wanting to get away from it all - yet is only 3 miles from the 'Blue Flag' beach at Woolacombe with its outstanding sandy expanse. The beach extends to some 3 miles and connects to Putsborough. We are also within easy reach of the beaches at Mortehoe, Croyde.

About Jim & Jane Bridges
Jane & Jim Bridges moved to Devon with their family in 2001 to have a more relaxed way of life. Jim had worked in London for over 20 years and the time was right to make a move away from the hustle & bustle of the City. It was always our aim to run our own business & and give our children a country life style.
Jim & Jane Bridges purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Jim & Jane Bridges chose Woolacombe
North Devon is a fantastic place to live with unrivaled costal beauty. We love walking and the area offers some of the best beaches in the country.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our cottages are converted from old barns to a high standard to provide comfort during your stay. We offer a very quiet location but are also only a short drive from the beach at Woolacombe and walking distance to Lee Village across adjacent fields. During your stay we offer the chance to feed our orphan lambs, pigs and other small animals
Surprisingly spacious and close to attractions
As a 1 bedroom cottage we were expecting the property to be small, but it has a large sitting room/dining room, decent size galley kitchen and a large bedroom with 2 double beds, 1 a sofa bed. The bathroom was a good size too and there is a boot room as you walk in to leave those dirty wellies which you may need if you take the walk across the fields and down to the cove at Lee down the hill from the farm. Jane was friendly and helpful with local information and talking about the farm. We also met her down on the beach at lee one morning with one of the dogs and my son walked back up to the farm with them rather than us! My son absolutely loved the dogs Pimms and Sonny. The living room is large enough to take a blow up bed of more people were to be accomodated, but you would need to let Jane and Jim know in advance. All the essentials were there. We used the Co-Op in Ilfracombe for food shopping and 1 trip to the large Tesco. There is a folder with leaflets about attractions in the area in the bookshelf in the living room. Great base for a North Devon stay. October many local shops seem to close early ie. by 4pm. The weather was cold, but we only had rain on 1 day. Didn't detract from our stay.
Welcoming, hassel free base to explore!!!
We were made to feel very welcome for the whole of our short stay. We arrived very late to find yummy biscuits and milk to make a brew 'thank you'. Jim & Jane were wonderful hosts. Our little cottage was perfect for what we needed. Pimms & Sunny the farm dogs even made friends with Seth our mischievious puppy. 10/10 from Darren for the sausages, eggs and homemade bread !!!!!!
Defo visit Woolecombe Beach, The Quay Inn (for Sunday dinner) in Instow and a lovely walk from the farm through the fields and forest to Lee Bay........ or put your feet up drink gin and eat pasties and cream teas 'all of which we cramned in whilst visiting Primrose Cottage'
We will be back x
Lovely quiet place
This cottage is perfect for a stay in North Devon. It is well located and close to Woolacombe, Illfracombe and Lee. Jim was very friendly and my little one enjoyed feeding the chickens and other animals in the morning. The cottage has everything you need. On arrival it is clean and comfortable but on closer inspection it could do with a bit more of a thorough dust (that may just be me as I'm a clean freak) and the bath plug was rusty too but that's just a minor thing really. The farm and cottage is such a peaceful place, I sat and fed my baby under a tree outside the cottage, listening to the birds sing and it was wonderful, I felt completely at one with nature and had a sudden feeling of calm and happiness. All in all it was great few days away with lovely hosts and I would definatly stay again.
Perfect place lovely hosts
Ideal bolt hole for exploring the area.
First time staying at Primrose Cottage. Ideal for a couple, not too big or too small. Lovely quiet setting and great to look out of the kitchen window and see a wide variety of birds right in front of you.
Both my wife and I had a very relaxing time.
Really friendly owner very helpfully
