About Christine Fletcher
I was introduced to holidays in Pembrokeshire over 40 years ago and still get the most wonderful delight in all that it has to offer. Our house in Dale is an excellent base from which to explore and walk on the coastal path to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Christine Fletcher purchased this House in 2000
Why Christine Fletcher chose Pembrokeshire
We have always spent a lot of time in Pembrokeshire, particularly around Dale and Marloes. We love the remoteness and beauty of the beaches, and the scenery as you walk along the coastal path. Photography and art work are wonderful pastimes in this area, along with sailing, surfing and windsurfing.
What makes this House unique
Gateholm is a very comfortable and conveniently placed property with the benefit of an en-suite, family bathroom and shower room. It is fully double glazed, well insulated, and has character and warmth. The rear garden and wooded bank attract a beautiful collection of birds. Skomer Island which is renowned for the birds is reached by a local boat, bookable in Dale. Windsurfing, Surfing and Sailing are all on hand, as is walking on the Pembrokeshire coastal path.

Couldn't be better
Gateholm is a big, spacious, clean, quality home from home. The back garden faces south so has sun all day (it was sunny mostly, luckily). It is in Dale which is beautiful.
Christine, the owner, was very helpful indeed and all instructions and tips were excellent.
We had not visited this part of Pembrokeshire before but we will certainly be returning for more. If you like to relax this place is perfect.
Thank you - that was what holidays are all about.
Best equipped property we've stayed in. Excellent location - we timed it from the property to the sea front at 1 min 30. Lovely sunny back garden where we spent many hours chilling. Wet suits, a canoe, table tennis table, bbq, all were provided. Ideal for families, but we were a greedy couple and kept it to ourselves!
Thank you so much and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. It is really appreciated that you have taken the time to write a review and thank you. We love Dale and particularly this time of year with the bluebells colouring the landscape of Skomer and also the coastal path to Musselwick.
We hope you will come and stay again. Thank you, Chris and Phil

A fabulous property for a visit to Pembrokeshire
We had an amazing stay in Dale at this property. Christine was very helpful and always quick to respond to any questions we had both before and during our stay. Check in was easy and convenient and the house was warm and clean when we arrived. It was very nice to have wood provided for the fire when we arrived.
We were two families staying at the property and found it to be spacious and well appointed. We cooked in most evenings and the kitchen was stocked with all dishes and utensils needed to cook whatever we wanted.
We were visiting in the winter but were lucky to have nice weather during our stay and found the location to be convenient for beach walks and exploring the neighbouring countryside and villages. The garden is beautiful and had it been a bit warmer we definitely would have spent a lot of time out there.
I would definitely recommend this property for anyone wishing to visit Pembrokeshire.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I am so pleased that you all enjoyed your stay, and that you were able to explore the beautiful beaches and coastline surrounding Dale. Many thanks, Chris.
When a house becomes your home…
We were looking for a location to spend our Family & Friends Christmas outside busy London. And we found it, the best choice in our life!
Christine, the owner had put the heating on before our arrival and put up lovely Christmas decorations. She also has prepared a special book where she explained everything that you would need during your stay at the property. Lots of helpful information to enable us to plan days out. From instructions about the oven to water tides and local dentist – if you really needed. House was very clean. Wood for the fireplace was prepared, Kitchen utensils and plates to cover 10 people. All the bedrooms were clean with towels.
Dale is a very small town, with only one pub. The sea is just a short walk down the road. During the Christmas time, it was open only in lunchtime, but I assume during normal or high season is open longer. Food in Griffin Inn was very good and fresh, Special Seafood card was amazing! There is no shop, so if you forget anything you have Tesco 20 min drive from Dale.
Marloes Sands Beach – really amazing. We’ve walked 1/3 of the coast of Dale to St Ann Head Lighthouse – really nice walk – you will need trekking shoes to do it – it is worth it!
Christine, we will be back. Thank you for making this Christmas very special!
Wow, thank you so much for writing such a nice review. It is really appreciated and I am so very pleased that you all had such a lovely family Christmas. You are very welcome to stay again. Thank you, Chris.
Dale waterfront is a 2 minute walk down the road. At low tide there is sand, with a pebble bank to the edge of the beach. The bay is perfect for sailing, windsurfing and swimming. Children enjoy searching for crabs off the pontoon.
West Dale is a 15 min walk up the road. It has a delightful sandy beach at low tide. The Atlantic breakers provide excellent surf conditions.
Marloes Sands is a 15 min drive and a 15/20 min walk down to the beach, listed as one of the best in Britain.
The M4, A48 and A40 provide fast dual carriageway links to St Clears. Recent further upgrading of the A40 mean that Haverfordwest can be reached in well under two hours from the Severn Crossing.
Both Haverfordwest and Milford Haven have rail stations.
A car is very useful for exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast.
Haverfordwest is about 25 mins drive. Marloes is about 10 mins drive. Milford Haven is about 20 mins drive. The Havens - Little Haven and Broad Haven are about 20 mins by car. Newgale surfing beach is about 40 mins and then another 30 minute drive takes you to St Davids, Britain's smallest cathedral city.
Dale has a local pub - The Griffin, the Yacht club and the Boathouse all provide food. Tesco supermarket have stores in Haverfordwest and Milford Haven, plus local banks and retail outlets.
