Villa with large pool in the SabinaHills , great location close to Rome
- english, french, italian, dutch
I am Cala, the owner of CalaSabina and live in Rome an will always be available for information and support during your stay, and available to come over from Rome to enjoy a pizza in company!
Cala purchased this Villa in 1997
Why Cala chose Tarano
CalaSabina was bought by my family in 1997 as it was the perfect place easy to reach from Rome to unwind after a long working week. It is quiet without being lonely, the surrounding countryside is absolutely gorgeous, and having the A1 close brings everything within easy reach. Since it has been made into a holiday home we made some changes to the interiors and gardens to make it even more beautiful and comfortable, which is confirmed by all the guests who stayed with us.
What makes this Villa unique
A dream place with a big, clean pool, lovely manicured garden with many terraces in the sun or shadow, close to shops, quiet and easy to reach, many historical sites to visit ....
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Beautiful, peaceful position, 1 hour drive from Rome center
We wanted a relaxed break prior to heading into an autumn of work for parents and University for our children. We found it! We had lovely weather in September, swimming everyday, and generally relaxing and soaking up the sun and the view in the lovely garden. Nicola and her husband were on hand (in small basement flat) to help, advise and share a lovely pizza evening; but totally unobtrusive and private otherwise. The journey to Rome in the Car rental was straightforward, right to step out at the Spanish Steps. If this is what you want, and we did, this is highly recommended.
Fantastic, relaxing holiday in a stunning location away from it all
If you are looking for complete relaxation then this is definitely one to consider. We had a great 11 nights in Cala Sabina. The location is fantastic with views to Sabina Hills across the fields and the pool and gardens are private and spacious with several options for outside dining. My children loved the pool (which was always really clean) and the hammock for lazy days in the sun.
The house is comfortable and well equipped with air conditioning in 2 bedrooms (not in small single room) and lounge and it is easy to keep unwanted insects out with screens on all windows.
Nicola and Andrea were great hosts, always available for help or advice without intruding on the holiday. We found a couple of good local restaurants and the main supermarket is only 10-15 mins drive with plenty of choice if you want to BBQ or eat in.
Positives: Pool; Space; Privacy; Clean and comfortable.
Thanks for the review, and we have added aircondition in the single room! An improvement every year!
Tranquility at it's best
This was our second visit to Cala Sabina. The location is just perfect for a relaxing family holiday. We visited during the heatwave, but with the stunning outdoor pool we never felt over whelmed with the heat and spent most of the day and evening in the manicured garden dipping in and out of the swimming pool. Again Nicola managed to find time to teach our aspiring chef daughter more Italian dishes. Delicious! Thoroughly recommend this villa for a truly get away from it all holiday though it is close enough to Rome that you can easily dip in and out of the city. Can't wait to return (and a week is just not long enough!).
See you next year!!!
Fabulous villa with beautiful views and pool
Nicola and Andrea are the perfect hosts at this lovely house. Tucked away in the Sabine Hills within easy reach of Rome, we found our home from home. Everything we needed was provided and more besides. Beautiful views from every window and a very clean pool. 2 lovable dogs kept our children from missing their own too much. A very tranquil setting, without being too isolated. Our last night featured pizzas cooked in the poolside pizza oven by our lovely hosts. We will definitely return and would recommend this property very highly.
Hello Lucy, thanks and you know where to reach us!!!
Beautiful and welcoming stay
We recently stayed at this property and never wanted to leave.
The views are amazing day and night.
The hosts made us welcome and put on the greatest pizza evening for us. The pizzas were delicious.
The pool was great and managed to spend our whole week using it. Great stereo pool side which is very loud and Bluetooth so easy to listen to your music whilst chilling.
All in all a top holiday and I would love to return again one summer.
Thanks for helping to make a great holiday Nicola and Andrea .
Lovely villa in a beautiful location
The villa is in a superb position with amazing views and a delightful pool. We all had a lovely relaxing holiday and managed trips to Rome twice, Assisi, (bit of an arduous drive) and the wonderful Marmore waterfalls. Nicola was a great host and very helpful in recommending places to go and visit or restaurants to try.
Special interest holidays:
Cala Sabina is the ideal place to learn how to make wonderful Italian dishes. During the day you spend your time relaxing besides the swimming pool or visit the surroundings and in the afternoon you transfer to our cooking studio. We have a large kitchen with all state of the art utensils and a pergola outside on a splendid terrace where we cook during the warm weather. We will show you how to make real pizza in a brick oven, or how to make homemade pasta for lasagne, ravioli or tortellini. We have a Personal Chef available for special occasions or as resident chef if you wish to relax and leave it upon him/her to organize your meals.
If you wish to plan a trip to the beach, the nearest ones are those around the Rome Area, Ostia or Fregene, which will take about one hour by car. Up north towards the Etruscan area of Tarquinia you will find less crowded beaches which will take about 1.30 minutes to reach and you can enjoy the beautiful roads and views of ruins crossing the wheat fields towards the beaches.
Cala Sabina is close to Rome, well connected to the A1 Highway which travels from Northern to Southern Italy.
Regular trains run from the Rome Tiburtina station to Stimigliano which is only 5 minutes by car from Cala Sabina. The same trains connect to the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport of Rome in Fiumicino. A car is essential, we recommend you rent it at the airport.
The nearest village is at 1,5km as well as the local supermarket, a choice of pizzerias and restaurant range from 2 to 4 km.
Restaurants, supermarkets, chemist, post offices, banks, churches and hairdressers are to be found in the villages close by. If you want to go for a shopping trip this can be done in the Ponzano Soratte Fashion Outlet close to the A1.
