About Alexandra Adamson
My name is Alexandra and I live in Edinburgh. My partner is an engineer and I work part time for a property management company. My passion is dancing and my husband's passion is cycling. We have spent many holidays snowboarding or cycling but in the last few years we have slowed down on the sporting pursuits and like to explore new places on foot!
Alexandra Adamson purchased this Apartment in 2013
Why Alexandra Adamson chose New Town
If you love historic property and want to experience Georgian character and luxury, you will not be disappointed. The area is a UNESCO world heritage site and considered to be a masterpiece of city planning. We have brought an 1840's property to life and the location belies the calm and peaceful feeling you get when you stay here. The area Broughton has retained it's sense of community within the city, as we also benefit from the local shops and specialty outlets surrounding the property.
What makes this Apartment unique
You would be never think our apartment was in the city so we love the fact that it is so quiet but literally 90 seconds (I've timed it) from Broughton Street where we can shop for basics or specialty items. There are so many restaurants, cafes and bars you are spoilt for choice. I love that we can walk to the main shops in and around Princes and George Street and our new tram system is up and running - 180 m and a 5 min walk from the apartment!
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Remarkable flat and great location
We absolutely loved this place. My wife and I aren't always easy to please, but we both agreed this was something we could live in for an extended period of time.
Alexandra, who greeted us at our convenience, is absolutely charming and she walked us through everything we needed to know about the place, including the surrounding area. We even texted her during our stay for some shopping ideas and she gave a full and knowledgable reply. The location is great for restaurants (there are so many choices within 5 minutes) and for accessing Old Town.
The photos do not do the apartment justice. It is more spacious than you might imagine. Everything is spotless and comfortable (including an excellent mattress). I would highly recommend staying here and if we're back in Edinburgh will be staying here again.
Lovely Georgian flat!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alexandra’s beautifully decorated flat. From our first contact through our entire stay she responded immediately to our questions. The flat is well stocked with whatever you might need and her thoughtfulness for the traveler is apparent. The deposit was returned before our trip was over. Thank you Alexandra!!
The property was very comfortable. The location is great to see the sites of the city and the immediate neighborhood has some nice places to eat (we especially liked the Olive Branch and Barony).
Alexandra went out of her way to find us a venue playing live music.
Elegant, Quiet, Well-Stocked and Best of All, Alexandra
Alexandra greeted us at the door when our cab pulled up. She showed us the features of the apartment and how to operate the gas furnace, range, dishwasher, washing machine, and TV. Alexandra also helped us get our phones and tablets connected to the WiFi. We enjoyed a chat about the neighborhood and she recommended a store where we could buy local SIM cards. .
Alexandra texted us occasionally during our stay to make sure all was well.
The apartment is generously supplied. Liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner as well as detergent for both the dishwasher and washing machine are provided. Alexandra recommended avoiding the drying function on the washer. Between the drying rack and the
tops of the radiators we didn’t miss a dryer.
A quart of milk, coffee pods and instant coffee, an assortment of tea bags, and some energy bars were on offer in the kitchen. (And a package of nice paper napkins! A travel luxury for us.)
There’s a five-burner gas stovetop, a small microwave, and a new DeLonghi countertop oven. The cabinets are stocked with plenty of cookware and tableware, including giant white cups that helped us down a sufficiency of morning caffeine. We enjoyed shopping at a small Tesco nearby and ate breakfast and dinner in the kitchen most days during our stay.
There is a small table in the living room that was perfect for sending email and doing crosswords.
The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The street outside is quiet. The closet in the bedroom has plenty of wooden hangers and an abundant supply of linens and towels. One of the side cabinets in the dressing table in the bedroom was stocked with a selection of hairspray and deodorant. I also found a full-size Babyliss hair dryer in it that sure beat my tiny travel hair dryer.
What wasn’t ideal for us? The floor of the shower is slick when wet. Be careful! The bathroom doesn’t have an electrical socket and the light isn’t really bright enough to apply makeup. I dried my hair and put on makeup using the mirror over the fireplace in the living room.
We definitely would recommend this apartment! Thanks, Alexandra, for being so attentive.
We didn't want to leave!
Good location, apartment, facilities and welcome.
Beautiful apartment, everything you would need for your stay. It was spotless and very welcoming. Alexandra was very helpful and answered any questions we had before and when we arrived.
The apartment is very central to town but there are plenty of places to eat and have a drink at the end of the street.
Would definitely recommend this apartment
