Beautiful three bedroom Trullo with private solar heated infinity pool & Wifi
Trullo Olivia sits in an acre of it's own grounds surrounded by olive, almond and cherry trees. Situated on a hilltop a few kilometres from Alberobello, the magnificently renovated trullo is in a peaceful location with beautiful views all around. Outside the trullo boasts a private 50 sq.metre kidney shaped solar heated swimming pool on the extensive private terrace and gazebo area. The barbeque sits underneath an arbour with sun loungers, occasional tables and hammocks ensuring guests enjoy lazy days in the beautiful Italian sunshine.
The main cone of the trullo forms the lounge with comfortable leather seating, leading to the dining alcove and fully equipped kitchen. One of the three attractive and comfortable bedrooms enjoys an ensuite shower room with the remaining two bedrooms sharing the unusual yet completely functional shower room built into the original oven.
Trullo Olivia is in a very rural position in the Itria Valley but only 5km from Alberobello the main town of the trulli region where there are many shops, banks, bars and superb restaurants. It sits on a quiet road with virtually no passing traffic so very safe especially for families with young children.
The views across the valley are stunning and from the trullo walking is a pleasant pastime.
There are many local towns to visit apart from Alberobello - Locorotondo, Martina Franca and further afield Ostuni & Lecce. All these towns have wonderful historic centres. The Adriatic Coast is around a 30 minute drive where there are many beaches public & private.
There are wonderful caves at Castellana, the amazing cave houses at Matera and zoo safari at Fasano - something for everyone. Or of course as many guests do just laze around the pool totally relaxing.
There are guide books and lots of information in the trullo to assist our guests during their stay.
Chris who lives and works in Alberobello takes care of the day to day running of Olivia. He is very friendly and informative about the local area and is available throughout the holiday should he be needed.
Complementary Wifi is available.

About Jan Hollingsbee
We first visited Puglia in 2000 and fell in love with the region, friendly people and of course the wonderful trulli. We purchased Olivia and spent a year working on the renovation. Since then we have successfully rented to happy guests. One outstanding comment we received about Olivia and it's beautiful surroundings was "perfect peace, perfect place, perfect Puglia" which sums it up beautifully.

Lovely location, relaxing, fantastic pool.
Having booked only a couple of weeks before travel, the communication prior to departure and directions to the trullo were excellent. Easiest transfer we have had to this part of Italy. The villa location could not have been more idyllic and peaceful, but still close enough to surrounding towns and villages. Welcome pack was much appreciated. Trullo was well equipped, clean and suited our requirements perfectly. The local team were very helpful, particularly when there was an issue with the pool (resolved in a couple of hours). With the temperatures in the 40's, the large fridge, and fantastic pool were much appreciated. The only fault we could level, is that the Trullo lacking air conditioning in the bedrooms meant sleeping was difficult during our stay, but appreciate temperatures were considerably above the seasonal norm. The guest handbook recommended local restaurants and shops, and all those visited proved to be excellent. To summarise, the whole family thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to anyone who wanted a relaxing time in the Italian countryside.
We had a fantastic stay here at Trullo Olivia. Everything was fantastic. From the booking until we arrived we were updated with relevant information in a friendly personal manner. On arrival we were met promptly and escorted to the Trullo which was useful as it was out in the countryside in a gorgeous spot.
Our two 8 year olds loved the pool and especially the diving board. It was always lovely and clean and "refreshing" in the Puglia heat. It was great to be able to sit around the pool area under shade to supervise them and have kitchen facilities so close too. Unlike some other villas we've tried Trullo Olivia had a good basic selection of kitchen stuff like olive oil, pepper, salt etc. There were plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery.
There were also games and DVD's age appropriate for them, and for us also which we enjoyed.
We managed to BBQ a couple of times and ate outdoors most of the evenings (had a couple of windy nights at the beginning of the week that forced us indoors).
All the rooms were comfortable with a fan which we didn't always need due to how the Trullo seems to manage to stay cool all by itself.
The area is absolutely stunning and highly recommend that you visit as widely as you can. A car is a must for this property. We hope to be back.
Perfection in Puglia
We (2 couples) stayed at Trullo Olivia for 3 weeks in June. From the point of booking to our departure, our hosts, Jan and Bob, were welcoming and accommodating - offering lots of good information about the area and specifically, the trullo. The setting is bucolic and exactly what we were hoping for. Set in the gorgeous Puglian countryside - yet only minutes from Alberobello - this was the perfect location from which to explore the markets, towns, and even the seaside. With unusually high temps for June, the pool was a godsend, and was kept pristine by the Puglian Pools team during our stay. We had a couple of minor items requiring service, and Chris and his team saw to their repairs quickly. We utilized the grill a number of times (charcoal can be purchased at the DOK grocery store in Alberobello), and ate al fresco every night that we weren't enjoying any of the wonderful local restaurants. Our only critique (hence 4 stars vs. 5) was that the beds were not the most comfortable. However, we understand that there will be some upgrades in this area in the short term. Trullo Olivia was our home-away-from-home for 3 wonderful weeks. If you're looking for a lovely, away-from-it-all holiday home, in an area with fabulous local colour and the best of Southern Italy, this is the place.
fabulous peaceful rural location
A beautiful property very well equipped with a lovely swimming pool set in a rural location a few kilometres from the picturesque town of Alberobello. We had a super holiday as the Trullo is out of town where you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside but within easy access to many beautiful areas of Puglia. Everywhere you would want to visit is within approximately an hours drive of the Trullo which includes beaches caves and towns with breath taking vistas amazing buildings of architectural interest as well as the famous Trullis in Alberobello. The Trullo has everything you need for a great self catering holiday as the kitchen has an abundance of equipment and the outside seating and eating area is super but if you prefer to eat out a short drive will take you to fabulous restaurants which provide you with the most amazing food and lots of it. The owners provide you prior to departure with very explicit details on how to drive there and you are met at a set location by very helpful 'greeters'. There is a brilliant supermarket called Conad which stocks all you need the deli and butchers have an amazing selection. There is a huge bbq at the property and I would highly recommend making the effort to use it because the selection of different meats available are well worth buying. The pool is really lovely a very good size which enables you to have some exercise as well as fun. In summary a great location fabulous property beautiful area and we hope to visit again in the future.
A truly lovely spot
We've always wanted to stay in a trulli and this one has been comfortably extended and is set off the beaten track down a quiet lane, less than ten minutes drive from the hustle and bustle of Alberobello with its dozens of restaurants and markets. Lovely comfortable outdoor space and beautiful (if cool for wimps but it was late September) pool, glass topped table for Alfresco lunches, fatnastic BBQ area and comfy seating for morning coffee and a quiet read before setting off on adventures around Puglia. Lots to do in the area. Well kept and well equipped trulli which made our late break away truly lovely,
Delightful trullo ideal for a family vacation
This is a lovely rural location, a well-renovated trullo house and a lovely pool. It is some 3 km from Alberobello in the heart of the still unspoilt Puglia countryside. From the house you can easily visit many of the beautiful old towns around and which merit a visit. You also have petrol and food on the edge of Alberobello which is convenient.
The house has all the facilities you need for a holiday home. It suits 4 or 5 perfectly but any more and the lving and kitchen area is a bit tight. That is the downside of the trullo architecture!
The pool area and terraces are perfect. We spent most mornings and lunchtimes around the pool and then explored the area in the late afternoon. The kids loved the pool and the terrace is conveniently located right next to the kitchen.
The house was clean and well-maintained overall and well-managed by a friendly and efficient local English-speaking company.
We would certainly not hesitate in booking again.
The Ash family
Puglia stretches from the stiletto of Italy's heel to the spur further up the boot and has a sunny Mediterranean climate. The region is very 'Italian' and boasts over 50 million olive trees producing 10% of the world's olive oil. It is also the largest wine producing area with vineyards in abundance. Trullo Olivia is situated in Capo di Gallo, a few km from Alberobello, the main town of the Trulli region. Home to around 1400 Trulli clustered together forming narrow cobbled streets; there are many excellent restaurants, bars and shops selling local handicrafts. Alberobello lies in the picturesque Itria valley and is a facinating town to explore, market day is a must. Locorotondo and Martina Franca a short drive with Ostuni a little further away. The rocky Adriatic coast is around 20 km to the east with small sandy inlets, crystal clear water and many wonderful seafood restaurants overlooking the sea. The Ionian coast is around 50 km away and has long sandy beaches worth exploring Other Activities: bird watching
