About Mandy Weston
Hi, I'm an archaeologist and TV presenter and live in London with my daughter. Margate has undergone major regeneration in the last two years and was recently listed in the Guardian as the holiday destination for 2017. It's perfect for holidays or weekends away and boasts one of the most beautiful sandy bays in Kent with plenty of activities for all ages including fun beach activities, jet-skiing and windsurfing. The newly commissioned Turner Gallery with views across the bay is situated in the very location from where Turner painted his sunsets and is a must-see.
Mandy Weston purchased this Apartment in 2013
Why Mandy Weston chose Westbrook
I love Margate which has re-emerged as a British holiday hotspot. The delightful town is filled with vintage furniture and clothes shops, as well as cafes, bars and restaurants. The iconic Dreamland complex on the seafront has now been newly refurbished and now provides a further host of other entertainments including live music from whilst retaining a retro feel. Nearby Botany Bay is a quiet, natural sandy beach with a Cornish vibe. 75 miles from London, Margate is easily accessible by motorway or high speed train from St Pancras in less than an hour and a half. The property is perfectly situated near town, beach and station so that most places are walkable.
What makes this Apartment unique
This period apartment is located in a quiet terrace, a stone's throw from the sea. Steps lead to a sandy beach giving a private feel, and there is a cafe and crazy golf course, ideal for small children. The rooms are stylishly decorated, and furnished in a contemporary and vintage style. The main reception room boasts a fabulous bay window with incredible views of the sea, wonderful at sunset. There are plenty of local shops, takeaways and other amenities nearby and the train station is a five minute walk away. There is also off-street parking. The famous towns of Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Whitstable are close by and slightly further afield, places such as Sandwich, Deal, Sittingbourne and Canterbury are well worth a day trip.

Thanks Mandy - we really enjoyed our stay. The flat is beautiful especially the lounge with its incredible view and we really appreciated being able to pop out for a swim in the sea! The lady who passed on the keys is absolutely lovely too and made us feel very welcome :)
July short break
Apartment is in an ideal location with stunning views and wonderful sunsets. Spent some lovely days there.
Great location, nice and close to sea front
We had an enjoyable time in Margate catching up with friends. Nice comfortable furnishings, tho had to buy a fan as was a little warm overnight that weekend. Generally well kitted out but couldn’t find the ironing board 😩. Only draw back was the parking as the street was always full and the designated car park was suited to a very small car...
Nice and cozy appartement with a stunning view
We had such a great time there. Wendy is a adorable houskeeper. Everybody was uncomplicated and very nice.
Beautiful location and lovely flat
Really enjoyed the stay. Very comfortable and convenient
Beautiful flat with a sea view
Whilst weather was at best mixed we enjoyed our stay in this apartment; comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. There were also books and beach toys for children. It's a short walk along the promenade into Margate, and the beach is literally across the road so no need to drive which is great as parking is difficult apart from the allocated space at the flat. Shops and cafes close by: we would recommend The Bus Cafe, where you can sit upstairs if wet or outside in the sun. Dominoes and kids games for amusement and lovely food!
The one slight problem was there is no live tv and the previous people had used up the month's wifi data, frustrating for our grand-daughter particularly. There was a great selection of dvd films though.
A good few days and we would go again.
