About Tim Goodall
We (Tim and Emma) are putting our family home up for holiday lets. We live and work in Dubai, but have had our second home in Salcombe since 2007. Salcombe is where my wife's family live and so is somewhere we will continue to visit, in addition to the fact it is in a beautiful part of the world. The house was gutted and stripped back allowing us to create a very personal special, albeit compact, family home for our holidays in the UK. We are not letting the home as a business but more of a sustainable need given it is a second home used once a year. We have put a lot of love, care and thought into the design of the interior and outdoor spaces, and we hope you will enjoy our home as much as we do.

Superb little cottage
Fantastic location, 5 minute walk from the centre of Salcombe and a small CoOp 5 mins walk away as well. The cottage was lovely and warm, very well equipped with everything you could need. The WiFi was fast and reliable. Beds were very comfortable and everything was clean and well cared for. We received plenty of info from Tim the owner prior to our stay. I can’t think of a better place to stay for convenience and comfort. Excellent and highly recommended. 10/10
What a lovely way to start 2019 - a 3 night break in this warm and comfortable cottage. Fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, even a pretty Christmas tree. The cottage is only a short walk to the Town Centre shops and pubs and Tim supplied us with lots of useful local information with recommendations for eating out and walks, long and short. Would love to return when the weather is warm to take advantage of the secluded outside space.

The cottage was exactly as I expected from the description and photographs, it is a really lovely property. Beds very comfortable, beautifully furnished, with every comfort to make our stay over Xmas memorable.

The cottage is in one of the best positions in Salcombe, a short walk to the town centre and a local shop just around the corner.
The property itself has been sympathetically renovated to a very high standard offering comfort and a good supply of kitchen equipment to prepare any meals.

There are a number of beaches within the Salcombe estuary, sandy, safe and clean. All within varying walking distances and ferries, the ferries are taken from the Ferry Inn. Clambering over the rocks to Sunny Cove or walking along the cliff tops, the views are stunning with spectacular coastal paths for lunch at Gara Rock and beyond.
The nearest airports are Exeter & Plymouth. There are trains to Plymouth and Totnes with buses to and from Salcombe. Once in Salcombe a car is not necessarily required as there is so much to do within walking distance.

The local shops are very good. You will find Coleman's a family butcher , delicious baker, fishmongers, delicatessen shops, grocers, gift shops, clothing, interiors & home-wares etc and the best sweetie shop you have ever seen, which the children love. There is a Lloyds bank and a Boots chemist. The clothing shops are interesting and varied for wetter days. We love "Chattels" at the end of Fore street opposite the butchers, for its interesting selection of home-ware, interiors and gifts. We love the sausages from Colemans the butchers. There are numerous restaurants and pubs for eating out and serving locally caught fish or shell fish; Captain Flints has great pizza's, but it is very popular and queues are to be expected; Salcombe ice-cream is a must! For a very good curry on a Friday night at The Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island, go to Bigbury which is accessed at high tide by a tractor, or walk over the spit of sand for an adventure. Newton Ferries has The Ship Inn on the tidal river's edge. Kingsbridge has two of the usual supermarkets. Walking in the area is so varied with Dartmoor close at hand and the Ramblers welcome people to join them three times a week. There are National Trust houses, e.g. Sharpitor on the cliffs at the mouth of Salcombe estuary and another at Dartmouth.

Booking Notes: Our House is available to rent throughout the year on a weekly basis. Short breaks out of season can also be requested / negotiated. Provisional reservations can be accepted by telephone or e-mail and confirmed on payment of a rental deposit. Email us, via the booking form, for further details. A £260 deposit is required on booking (not toward rent and converts to security deposit at arrival). The rental monies are in 2 stages 50% 60days prior arrival / Balance 14days prior arrival Changeover Day: Changeover day is Friday with departure time by 10:00 am and arrival after 3:00 pm, unless by prior arrangement where possible. Notes on prices: Prices range from £515 low to £1350 per week high season. Short stays are available during non-peak time for % of the rent, approx as follows: 3 nts:70%, 4 nts:75%, 5 nts:85%, 6 nts:92%. 4th futon-bed for 7th pax is addtl £60/stay Cot/high chair (if req) at addtl charge £260 min booking deposit req.converting to security deposit.
