About Poppy Baggott
The Tower Lodge is part of a family livestock farm run by Sue and Piet Gilroy. The farm is almost self sufficient, with winter fodder grown on site to feed a herd of beef breeding cows and black faced sheep, and fruit and vegetables are grown by Sue in a large walled garden. If you come to stay in the Tower and are interested in looking round the farm, purchasing free range eggs, or fruit and vegetables (in season), then please contact Sue and Piet on 01556640202; similarly if you are keen to try some loch fishing either from the bank or by boat, this can be organised by prior arrangement by calling the above number.

Lovely little week away here x
Really enjoyed the stay, would highly recommend the hotel restaurant less than a mile away.
Fresh produce available to purchase, the eggs reminded me of my childhood, and the strawberries are to die for.
Got plenty of exercise here as is on 4 floors. (The dogs found it fun too, even one got dizzy!)
We will be returning, as its idylic.
Charming, quirky property in fantastic coastal location
Great little base to explore this unspoilt, lovely area of Scotland. Has all the facilities you'll need, kitchen is well equipped and beds are comfy. Well stocked with logs for the wood-burner and the enclosed garden is great for dogs. Poppy and Sue were really friendly and helpful with finding pony trekking for family. Great views, beaches and coastal walks nearby and very quiet and private.
Unusual building in lovely setting.
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Its a most unusual and unique building! The setting was beautiful overlooking the estuary, very peaceful. Plenty of excellent walking within easy access.
Only slight moan about property details as listed... Bed linen is provided but at extra cost and there is no dishwasher as mentioned on list of amenities.
beautiful area and very peaceful, the beaches near the rspb reserve were lovely as was the reserve, the property was great and had everything we needed for a great holiday.
We stayed for 4 nights at this beautiful “Fairytale House”. What a lovely cosy home. Piet greeted us and was very welcoming. Sue left us some of the most delicious Free Range eggs we have ever tasted. The house was warm, and we were left enough wood to use the log burner every night making it even more cosy. The walled Courtyard for our dog was great too and the small beaches were a bonus. We would definitely recommend the Clifftop walk which is only a 10 minute walk to the start from the house to Balcarry Bay Hotel. We only wished we could have stayed longer. We would definitely recommend the house for comfort and location .Thankyou Piet and Sue for making us feel welcome. Mark and Vicky
Quirky, but charming property, in a wonderful peaceful setting
We only had a couple of days in the property, however we had a great time, chilling, walking, talking and relaxing.......incredibly quiet and if you are a star gazer, I have never seen so many stars at night. Don’t expect a roaring social life however if you can make your own entertainment, and enjoy each other’s company, this property and the surrounding area would do you nicely.
