The Cottage is attached to the owners property which has recently been converted to a high standard from The Old Corner Shop and Post Office. The Village consists of pretty black and white houses with the River Rhiew running through the centre of the village. The Cottage has excellent views of the village from the kitchen/diner window with all the local shops/pubs and church all located within a few yards from the door. The location is an ideal touring base for exploring Mid Wales either by car, cycling or walking.

About Heather Lawton
We have lived in the beautiful village of Berriew all of our lives and look forward to sharing it with you.
Heather Lawton purchased this Cottage in 1999
Why Heather Lawton chose Welshpool
We have lived in the area all of our life and we bought the property in 1999 and run it as a Post Office and Corner Shop until it closed in 2008. Due to the closure it was necessary to find a new life for the premises and due to its lovely central location We decided that it would be an ideal location for guests to explore and enjoy rural Mid Wales.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is very conveniently situated, just a mile off the main A.483 and also has a bus route through the village. It is situated in the very active working village of Berriew, which has two pubs, a Spar shop, butchers shop, a deli/tearoom, gift/card shop and a church, all of which are within view of the cottage. It is in an excellent location for exploring the area by car, cycling or walking.

We were very impressed by this well thought out property, it felt like home, nothing was missing. Heather was very friendly as were the local villagers. It was a very good base. Hopefully we will return.
Welcoming and comfortable
Comfortable cottage which was warm and welcoming. Well kitted out kitchen meant could actually be self catering. Washing and drying was very useful with small kids. Completely self contained with it's own entrance. Thanks for enjoyable relaxing stay
Delightful Cottage in the center of a charming village
In the heart of Berriew in Wales, this cottage is convenient for day trips around the area or for just relaxing and enjoying the townspeople and the local pubs and restaurants.
Everything is provided and the accommodations are comfortable. We would definitely go back again.
A truly lovely property in a beautiful location.
From this location we had easy access to a number of wonderful places driving through beautiful countryside and having a really comfortable house to return to each day.The village had lots of amenities to make the stay enjoyable, even hosting an art exhibition for local artists. The cottage has been modernised to a very high standard and we were made very welcome by Heather Lawton.
