robbie hall purchased this Chalet in 2016
Why robbie hall chose Gatlinburg
loved it first time we saw it with its close proximity to town yet "away from it"!!
What makes this Chalet unique
some choose to walk to town, but remember, "you are in the mountains" there are bear, and other wildlife to consider depending on the time of day. borders the Smoky Mountain National Park. spectacular day and night views!

Best of both worlds
I have stayed in a number of cabins in and around Gatlinburg and this has been the best home by far. The accommodations were first rate, the furnishings and decor truly set it apart. Staying there feels like you are deep in the smoky mountains with the the views, the wildlife and the privacy. At the same time you are a short drive down the mountain from Gatlinburg and all that is there. It is the best of both worlds, highly recommend this place!
Bear Watching in Living Color!
Our stay was very enjoyable in your Chalet, extremely comfortable and clean. Loved the mornings on the deck unless a bear was in the neighborhood...…….but that made it more fun. Incredibly well stocked!! My husband, 3 sisters and a brother-in-law made so many memories here. Truly a good time was had by all! Just one suggestion, the full bed in one of the bedrooms was not comfortable. My sister found it very hard and uncomfortable; maybe a new mattress??
Loved Living Color!
We loved our stay at Living Color! Proximity to the strip was just what we were looking for, and the cabin itself was everything we wanted. We had some bear visitors, including a mama bear and her four cubs one evening! Thank you to the Halls!
Our Family Vacation for 2019 In Gatlinburg
We stayed at this property to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The house was clean and the location was good with great views of the lights of Gatlinburg at night. The sounds of the mountains can be heard on the covered deck and the sunrise is beautiful over the mountains. With being so close to town I was surprised when we had a visit from a black bear!! Great place to stay!!
wow, what a perfect review!!! and she visits our home every day!
thanks so much!
Excellent Place and Location
We are a very picky family with ocd about cleanliness and this place was by far one of the cleanest places we stayed. The home is absolutely breathtaking and so convenient to everything you need or things you would want to do. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Gatlinburg.
thank you thank you thank you!
Nice House, but..
We are not new to the mountains or rental houses/cabins but access to this property should come with a cautionary warning. House was impeccable, decorated with the best decor and furnishings. The driveway was a narrow very steep gravel drive that was challenging for myself and the family we had visiting. You had to do a turnaround or 3 point turn just in order to turn onto the driveway from the 1 lane swithchback drive coming from the "strip". I imagine a lot of folks would be intimidated by the access. Not impossible, obviously, but should be highlighted in the description so renters know what to expect. Exterior pics on website do not show the steep grade. Drive should be paved. Otherwise house was perfect and impressive.
Hi John, thank you for letting us know you found our home was in impecccable condition upon your arrival! Rett and I take alot of pride along with the cleaning service we use to provide our guest with what we hope are up to their expectations! Im sorry you felt the drive was not properly described in our description, having had this location for an extended amount of time pre and post fire we have never had anyone find it uncomfortable to enter or exit. my husband and I double park at the top so width I believe should be ample as well as tractor trailer utility vehicles in and out of drive during rebuild post fire, our thought for an asphalt drive as well as concrete during fall with rain and leaves falling, we have always felt large gravel was a good option for driving on a 30-45 degree slope. It is apparent in our pictures our home is on a mountain looking down onto the city at night with all the lights hence "Living Color" the road for which you enter is wide enough and considered a 2 lane road, there are several drives for those who should need help climbing the 3 blocks to our home. i hope you have more success in the future with your choice, we always hope our guest will come back!
