Why OLIVER BAILEY chose Battersea
The flat is a brand new renovation. Everything is brand new and beautifully finished. No one lives there when it's not rented out so it's not full of the usual clutter, just the things you need to enjoy your stay.

Lovely apartment on a beautiful street
This apartment is certainly compact, but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. They kitchen is a great size and overall, it is very well taken care of - bed linens and towels all seemed new etc. The street is beautiful with a number of pubs and a couple of grocery stores within a few minutes walk.
Hi Rory and Jacinta. Many thanks for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you had a great time at the Chelsea Flower Show. You're welcome back anytime!
Nice clean and small
The apt is several steps up from the street. Very small living area. Bed is too small and steep steps up to a loft area.
This is the first 3 star review I have ever received in 2.5 years of hosting so felt I should respond. The apartment is not listed as being on the ground floor. However, it is only up a short half flight of stairs (just 7 steps in total!) which are wide and straight so I don't see why it was deemed necessary to point out that the 'apt is several steps up from the street". The apartment is a studio flat and sure it's not vast but its layout is clearly shown in the photos and description. The bed is slightly larger than a standard double so certainly no smaller than normal and the steps up to the sleeping loft area, while slightly steeper than average stairs, are again clearly shown in the listing. I contacted Joe during his stay to check everything was OK but he did not respond.
Well considered space. Good value.
Everything was as expected. Stayed for a week and would have been happy to have stayed longer. The space and neighborhood are quiet at night but you can get anywhere you might want to go using the excellent and close bus service. The host has considered guests’ needs and was quick to respond to questions. Happy to give five stars
Nice little studio flat
We really enjoyed our stay at this Battersea flat. The location is great, in a quiet neighborhood near to markets and bus stops. The flat was spotlessly clean, and Oliver was very easy to communicate with. My husband and I stayed for a week and our only caution is that the bed is a firm futon mattress located in a cramped loft up a narrow flight of stairs. Not super comfortable and I had to crawl over him in order to get to the toilet downstairs. Other than that, it was great!
Lovely and cozy!
A wonderful, quaint little apartment in such a charming neighborhood! Only very minor issue is that it is a little complicated to get to the tube and into the city proper, but that's almost ok because Battersea was so delightful anyway! Clean space, and Oliver was super helpful!
The entire booking, communication, and stay were by far the best VRBO experience I've ever had. Every thing was as promised and the apartment was perfect for 2 people. The location made traveling throughout the city easy. Special thanks to Oliver's comments about using the Citymapper app for navigating London. It made us feel like a local and we had zero issues getting from point A to B and in the most time and cost efficient way. This unit and host gets an A+ from me. Highly recommend!
The flat is on Albert Bridge Road and is just a 1 minute walk to the gates of Battersea Park, one of London's most beautiful parks. Just over the bridge is Chelsea with all the shops and restaurants of the King's Road, Sloane Square and Fulham Road. There are also some great pubs just seconds away: The Lighthouse, Lost & Co and The Northcote.
The nearest tube is South Kensington or Sloane Square. The 49 bus goes direct to South Kensington every 8 minutes and takes 16 minutes - the bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the flat. Or of course you could cycle - there is a Santander cycle hire station just seconds from the front door. All the tube and train stations have bike hire stations very close to them.
The nearest train stations are Battersea Park (5 minute by bus / 15 minute walk) which gets you to Victoria in 5 minutes or Queenstown Road (6 minute by bus / 16 minute walk) which get you into Waterloo in 10 minutes.
There is a great site and free app called Citymapper which will give you every possible combination of transport around London. Type in SW114PX for the location of the flat.
Getting from Heathrow Airport: There are a few ways to get to the flat from Heathrow. The easiest and quickest way is to get an Uber taxi if you have the app. It should take no more than 50 mins and cost about £35/40. Second option would be the Heathrow express train to Paddington Station (£25 one way, £22 off peak, £37 return). Here you then have to change to the underground (circle line, yellow line) to South Kensington Station and then get a bus or taxi to the flat. The cheapest option is the underground all the way from Heathrow on the Piccadilly Line to South Kensington, followed by bus.
Getting from Gatwick Airport: Take the train to Clapham Junction (do not take the Gatwick Express as this only stops at Victoria, not Clapham Junction). From Clapham Junction take a bus (6 minutes) or taxi to the flat.
Getting to Wimbledon Tennis: The quickest is to walk/cycle/bus to Battersea Park train station and get a train to Wimbledon station (there is one change at Clapham Junction) which only takes 20 mins. Or you can get the District Line tube from South Kensington to Southfields.
Parking: There is free parking on residential roads about 5 minutes walk. Parking outside the flat is free in the evenings and weekend. During the day there is metered parking with a maximum stay of 4 hours.
