Villa Stavria was designed and equipped as our own retirement home, specifically to create a very modern, light and airy space in which to relax and enjoy the beauty of Crete in luxury. Built over two floors, the open plan ground floor has a comfortable lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The lounge boasts full width ( 8 metres ) patio doors opening onto the large terrace which gives access to the private pool, combining the inside and outside area's into one incredible hot weather living space. There is also a twin bedded room, which has its own shower room with toilet, on this level.
The lounge furniture is modern and has been chosen with comfort in mind as there is a curved sofa which has a reclining seat on each end. The single chair also has an electric reclining mechanism, good for a quick afternoon siesta. The dining table has a white glass top and extends to sit at least 6 people comfortably. There is a matching high gloss white sideboard and coffee table both of which have protective glass tops to prevent discolouration.
The kitchen has an island unit with a breakfast bar at one end to seat 2 people. The units have soft close doors doors and drawers and It is fully equipped with all cooking utensils, saucepans and casserole dishes. The white goods are intergrated and consist of a washing machine, dishwasher, full height fridge, full height freezer and a bottle fridge for that all important bottle of wine. A small combined microwave and oven plus a larger oven are housed in a full height unit, the electric hob is housed on the island unit.
A feature Italian spiral staircase leads to the first floor bedrooms both of which have en-suite wet rooms and large patio doors which give access to a tiled terrace where you can take in the breathtaking scenery.
There are sun loungers, outdoor dining furniture and views to die for. All crockery and cutlery is provided including plastic crockery for outside use and plastic glasses for use in the pool.
Although set in a rural location the tiny villages of Milatos and Milatos Beach have several tavernas on the seafront all serving traditional Greek cuisine and wines.
Sisi and it's sandy beaches are within 5min drive and has supermarkets selling local produce, bakeries, butchers and numerous tavernas where you can sample traditional Greek fare. Sisi, which is centred around a small harbour, is by far the busiest of the two villages It has several medium sized hotels which , by defenition, means more people. There is always something to keep you entertained and if you just feel like relaxing take a seat at one of the cocktail bars and watch the world go by, the view of the sunset is to be recommended There are a couple of car hire firms but it's also possible to hire quad bikes and bicycles if you wish to explore the area. There are a few shops for you to browse around and it's possible to book tickets to all of the attractions the area has to offer with pick up points within the village and with plenty of free parking you don't have to worry about leaving your hire car for the day.
There is a small market on a Monday on the car park as you go out of the village towards the national road.
There is an ATM in the High Street, at the Vassia Hotel and Festos Supermarket.
