Spotless, well equipped, comfortable beds & enjoyed the table tennis table. Loved how close we were to the coastal paths. Walking distance to the village with fantastic scenery. Highly recommended.
Looking to have a brief escape from Edinburgh - we found that this property provided everything we needed - very well equipped and with a great location! It helped that the weather was 'with us' at least for the most part, as we discovered this part of Wales. The property was ideal as a starting point - for walks and local interest! Having made the journey down from Scotland, it will not be the last time we venture down this way again!
What a find!
Caswell cottage was a wonderful discovery. The cottage itself is warm, friendly and superbly equipped. On top of that, there’s the proximity to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with its amazing views and dramatic scenery. Nearby Solva has got everything you’ll need and there is lots to see and do in the nearby countryside. Chris and Sue
Beautiful cottage in fab location for coastal path
Cottage furnished beautifully and very dog friendly everything you needed for your stay. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.
Caswell met everyone's needs, including the dog. Comfortable throughout and a lovely welcome hamper on arrival. Fabulous walks on the doorstep, good food and places of interest to visit. Will definitely be visiting again soon.
Peaceful, has what you need, great location
We really enjoyed our stay at Caswell House. It was both very peaceful (important for me as I have a chronic illness) and very comfortable, and pretty much everything you need is there. There is a nice walk from the house down to the harbour and town, which I was able to do in my mobility scooter. And it's also a short walk to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which my partner took and said the views were wonderful.
I liked that in the kitchen, key store cupboard items, such as cooking oil and salt, are available. It's so frustrating to have to go and either bring or purchase all this stuff yourself, so we really appreciated these being available. As well as the eggs, bread and Welsh cakes on arrival.
The beds are comfortable, it has a great shower, and a sunny little garden. And my partner and a friend enjoyed playing ping pong in the games room when I was resting. Jacqui was really prompt and helpful at dealing with any queries, another important thing that made our stay so relaxing.
Solva is a lovely village, and we loved the cafe Mamgu so much, we visited it most days. It has best just cooked Welsh cakes and coffee, and has more unusual Welsh cakes to try too. It's a quick trip to St David's from Solva, and to other places in the area.
Caswell House was just perfect and we want to visit the area again and when we do, we will defintiely return to Caswell House.
Within 2 minutes walk of the world renowned Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and Solva harbour, a vast expanse of sand at low tide and a bustling quay for crabbers and sailors at high tide, or those just wanting a drink and watch the world go by. The Blue Flag beaches of Whitesands (5 miles) and Newgale (4 miles) are within easy distance for surfers, bathers or just sun bathers, along with numerous other hidden coves and bays.
Solva is easily accessible by road, 12 miles along the A487 from Haverfordwest, which also provides regular, hourly buses. The nearest train station is also at Haverfordwest. Use of car is recommended if you want to go further afield.
Caswell is located at the top of the village of Solva. St Davids, Britain's smallest city with its historic cathedral, and bijou shops is just 3 miles away. The towns of Haverfordwest and Fishguard are 12 and 15 miles away respectively.
The coastal path which runs through Solva attracts walkers from all over the world. Birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts have numerous locations to visit nearby, including the islands of Ramsay and Skomer. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of activities locally such as horse riding, kayaking, rock climbing, surfing and windsurfing.
Nearby St David's has a local supermarket and a high street bank.
