Lovely cosy little cottage in the centre of amenities
Had a lovely stay in this property with everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. Beach, pubs, restaurants, shops and supermarket all a stone’s throw away. Ghisvus the second time we have stayed and just as enjoyable. Located on a one way narrow street but just pull right over to unload and car parks are a few minutes walk away.
The cottage is clean and nicely decorated however in need of some work re. Heating. The fire/fan heater is not working in the lounge area meaning my partner and I had to spend evening tucked up with a blanket. The shower has a problem re. temperature control; it’s either boiling hot or cold.
Thank you for your review Jane, we’re sorry to hear you found it chilly. Fishermans Cottage is usually described as cosy, particularly during exceptional cold spells such as now!
Every room in the cottage features an electric wall heater, one of these you hadn’t spotted by the dining room table in the lounge, I do hope it warmed up after we pointed it out. Please note the additional electric fireplace has now been replaced, thank you for bringing it to our attention.
Great little cottage in fantastic location
Fishermans Cottage is a quaint and charming little cottage. We stayed for 2 nights at the end of September and had a wonderful time. It was lovely and clean and the cooker looked brand new although we didn't use it as there are so many places to eat within a few meters. The bed, pillows and linen were really good and we slept very well. There is no garden which wouldn't be a problem, but we took our dog so it made it a bit difficult. As in all old cottages, the stairs are steep which would not be ideal for those with mobility issues. The only slightly negative, if im being picky, is that the sofa could do with being replaced as it looks tired. Fishermans Cottage is in a brilliant location for both the sea and town and Cromer is such a nice, historic, interesting seaside town with everything you need. The walks are good and the locals are super friendly.
A big thank you to Sacha for being so helpful and informative during our seamless booking process.
We look forward to a return visit
Lovely cosy little cottage right in the centre of the town.
The cottage was easy to find, and had everything we needed including a super comfy bed.
Just a short walk to the beach, our Labrador loved it. The main area of the beach is not dog friendly until the end of September but you only have to walk a little further to reach the waves and fun. Two real ale pubs and an Indian restaurant are on the same road and a well stocked Co-op just around the corner with plenty of veggie and gluten free bits and pieces. We pulled right over to unload then parked in the long stay car park at £7 a day and five mins walk away. There is street parking available too but the road around the corner rom the cottage only allows half an hour. We had such a nice time in Cromer looking around the bookshops and gift shops :)
Thank you for a fantastic review Penny, we're glad to hear you enjoyed it. You're welcome back anytime.
good location parking in town car parks okay few niggles with property which owner must be aware of could be easily sorted ie poor flow out of bathroom hot tap enjoyed our stay for a couple of nights
Spent 2 nights staying at Fisherman’s Cottage in Cromer. Great location, just a few minutes walk from the seafront and town centre. Cottage was spot leaky clean and came with all the usual facilities you would expect. Cottage is cosy and great for a couples get away. Only thing we would say is staircase is steep and narrow and the steps are quit thin. Not a problem for us, but could be if you have mobility problems. All in all a great little find, which we would highly recommend. Many thanks
There is a working RNLI lifeboat station and museum and there are plenty of excellent walks along the cliff top trail or along the beach to either Overstrand to the south or to East and West Runton to the North.
Annual events include the Folk Festival in May, Carnival Week (held during the third week in August), and fireworks over the water on New Year’s Day.
The Coast Hopper bus provides a regular hassle free service round the picturesque coast where you may 'hop on' and off at such beautiful coastal villages as Cley, Blakeney and Morston and connects with boat trips to visit the seals.
The railway station is just a short walk away with connections to Norwich, the Broads and Sheringham. Catch a bus or drive to the Georgian town of Holt, 15 minutes away. The fine city of Norwich with its excellent shopping malls, theatre, cinema complexes, cathedral, castle museum, plenty of inns and restaurants is only 20 miles away.
If you manage to exhaust the many options available to you in Cromer other attractions include the wonderful North Norfolk Steam Railway at Holt, famous for its 40's re-enactment weekends held in September, the Splash Aqua Pool at Sheringham, the National Trust Sheringham Park for walks with wonderful views, Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall. The RSPB nature and bird reserves at Cley and Blakeney are also very popular. Daily boat hire and river trips are available on the famous Norfolk Broads just a 30 minute drive away.
