This home is a REAL timber frame built in the manner of the tradesmen in the 13 century .
The timbers were hand cut, shaped, and fitted then secured with pegs, no nails. Outside, the house looks like any custom home, but inside, the beauty of the woods and the architecture is spectacular.
We are located at 112 Vaughn Court, Six Mile, SC in a small development called the Pennisula. We are lake front with a dock and boat tie up area. The view is great and boat traffic is mild compared to the main waterways on the lake. It is a family-oriented cove.
The home has 2 levels; WE ONLY RENT THE LOWER (2nd) LEVEL. It is private with its own entrance and patio with seating and a charcoal grill. There is a very large common area with a full kitchen, large dining table and sitting area. 2 bedrooms, one on each side of the common area have double beds and their own full bathrooms. An entertainment room with large screen TV and DVD capabilities (we do not have standard TV viewing) also has a nice couch that is quite comfortable for an extra sleeping spot. We request that a maximum of 5 people be observed.
Mobile phone reception can be intermittent depending on your carrier, therefore, we have provided a land line and WiFi. If you pair your phone with the WiFi, the reception improves.
We have provided floats, tubes, and dock chairs for your enjoyment. Our boat is NOT included in the rental, but contact information for rentals is in the house manual.
We have written an in depth house manual which should answer many questions. In it are also boat rentals, restaurant guides, and activities such as horseback riding, hiking, biking, and golf. The Cliffs at Keowee Springs may have tee times available.
Keowee is a large lake with much to offer. There is a state park within easy walking distance of the house; where swimming and picnic areas, boat launches, and overnight camping are available. Table Rock state park is within 30 minutes and offers rock climbing in addition to camping, fishing, hiking, and special events. Another state park is located at Lake Jocasse which is about 15 minutes away. Boat rentals and boat tours are offered . This is a beautiful undeveloped lake that has many waterfalls and hiking trails, the Cherokee Foothills being one of them. A Jocasse visit and tour will not disappoint!
Seneca, Pickens, and Clemson are the closest towns where grocery store chains, department stores, and restaurants etc. can be found. On the way to Seneca, you pass the Keowee sailing club and marina. There is a convenience store with gasoline 5 minutes from the house. They have a grill that offers breakfast and lunch/dinner fast foods. There are a few restaurants that are accessible from the lake.
