LOWER level: 2 bedrm 2 bath kitchen boat dock wifi patio w/seating grill
This home is a REAL timber frame built in the manner of the tradesmen in the 13 century .
The timbers were hand cut, shaped, and fitted then secured with pegs, no nails. Outside, the house looks like any custom home, but inside, the beauty of the woods and the architecture is spectacular.
We are located at 112 Vaughn Court, Six Mile, SC in a small development called the Pennisula. We are lake front with a dock and boat tie up area. The view is great and boat traffic is mild compared to the main waterways on the lake. It is a family-oriented cove.
The home has 2 levels; WE ONLY RENT THE LOWER (2nd) LEVEL. It is private with its own entrance and patio with seating and a charcoal grill. There is a very large common area with a full kitchen, large dining table and sitting area. 2 bedrooms, one on each side of the common area have double beds and their own full bathrooms. An entertainment room with large screen TV and DVD capabilities (we do not have standard TV viewing) also has a nice couch that is quite comfortable for an extra sleeping spot. We request that a maximum of 5 people be observed.
Mobile phone reception can be intermittent depending on your carrier, therefore, we have provided a land line and WiFi. If you pair your phone with the WiFi, the reception improves.
We have provided floats, tubes, and dock chairs for your enjoyment. Our boat is NOT included in the rental, but contact information for rentals is in the house manual.
We have written an in depth house manual which should answer many questions. In it are also boat rentals, restaurant guides, and activities such as horseback riding, hiking, biking, and golf. The Cliffs at Keowee Springs may have tee times available.
Keowee is a large lake with much to offer. There is a state park within easy walking distance of the house; where swimming and picnic areas, boat launches, and overnight camping are available. Table Rock state park is within 30 minutes and offers rock climbing in addition to camping, fishing, hiking, and special events. Another state park is located at Lake Jocasse which is about 15 minutes away. Boat rentals and boat tours are offered . This is a beautiful undeveloped lake that has many waterfalls and hiking trails, the Cherokee Foothills being one of them. A Jocasse visit and tour will not disappoint!
Seneca, Pickens, and Clemson are the closest towns where grocery store chains, department stores, and restaurants etc. can be found. On the way to Seneca, you pass the Keowee sailing club and marina. There is a convenience store with gasoline 5 minutes from the house. They have a grill that offers breakfast and lunch/dinner fast foods. There are a few restaurants that are accessible from the lake.

About Vicki and John Bell
We are professional people in our 60's. We were both born in Henderson county NC and remain here. Our children are grown with families of their own; we are blessed with 10 grandchildren. We both still work full time. Our hobbies include master wood working and sewing and quilting. All the wood elements you see in this home were designed and built by us. This home has a little of our souls in it.
Vicki and John Bell purchased this House in 2008
Why Vicki and John Bell chose Pickens County
We have always loved the lakes of this area and have spent many happy times around Jocasse and Keowee.

Immaculate house - unmatched craftsmanship
Our company rented the house over the weekend. This house is immaculate. The exquisite wood work accented the house very nicely. Our host, Vicki, was very attentive to details. We were very glad to have rented this house. We would love to come back again.
I was disappointed. The listing shows the entire house. However, it is only for the basement. There are 2 Double beds only. One of our guest was 6.3 not a comfortable fit. It says Wifi but it is so slow we couldn't watch the Clemson game, had to leave and go to a bar.
It is a lovely view and property.
I am sorry you thought that the whole house was included in the rental; however, in my detailed description on the site, I clearly describe the rental space as the lower level and the bed sizes and number of bathrooms. I think that is also in the manual of instructions I sent to you. The WiFi is the fastest ATT has to offer in this area; I apologize that it wasn't sufficient to watch the game.
I looked at the VRBO site to double check that all information is there and I will check with ATT to see if there was a problem with the WiFi.
Thank you for your input and I will state clearly for others exactly what the rental is when they request to stay.
Lake Front Home
The apartment was perfect for us. Beautiful lake, beautiful view, it was very peaceful. Vicki and John were perfect hosts and very accommodating. We totally enjoyed our stay!
Thank you for the nice review. We enjoyed you as guests as well; we all had fun watching the eclipse! Come again soon.
It was very enjoyable.
Perfect arrangement for us. Property was clean and well taken care of. Would love to do it again sometime.
It was a beautiful Home and all five couples loved it!
Some sort of local television would have been nice especially since we were down for the Clemson ballgame. Made do with the percolator. It was amazing that the majority of our people have never seen one. They finally got the hang of the elevator about both doors needed to be closed. Definitely on our list for when we return to Clemson.
Thanks for Hosting Us!
Fabulous lake house!
The home is gorgeous and was by far the cleanest property we have ever rented!
The lake is incredible and views from the house amazing! Owners very thorough and responsive!
We would have preferred stairs to the elevator, but overall the house was perfect for our family of 7! We would rent again.
This is the perfect location for a family vacation. The lake is large, therefore allowing visitors to find quiet coves and beaches as well as action places. There are several beautiful waterfalls and the flora and fauna amazing. Available activities include boating, skiing, swimming, scuba diving, horseback riding, bird watching, hiking, and biking. Several fishing tournaments are held each year. Golfing is available at the Cliffs properties (fees apply). Some restaurants are accessible by water. There is a state park with picnic areas, boat launches, swimming areas, and overnight camping areas just a short walk from the house. Contact information is provided in the house manual for boat rentals and horseback riding. You are within 15 minutes driving time to nearby Lake Jocasse which is very well known for its many natural waterfalls and its undeveloped beauty. The Cherokee Foothills Trail runs near and around portions of the lake. There is also another state park there. Table Rock state park is less than 30 minutes away with rock climbing, fishing, camping, restaurant, and scheduled festivals and entertainment (see their website). The home is sitting within 20 minutes of Clemson University. Seneca is 20 minutes in another direction; you will pass the sailing club on the way. Atlanta is 90 minutes away and Greenville and/or Spartanburg are less than an hour and half away.
