Chalet in Les Allues, Savoie, Rhone-Alpes, France - Peaceful Location, 7 Mins Walk To Ski Bus And Ski Lift
About Laura Sykes
We are a very busy and ambitious couple who enjoy skiing in winter and cycling in the Alps in the summer. We enjoy the retreat of the mountains, summer or winter.
Laura Sykes purchased this Chalet in 2013
Why Laura Sykes chose Les Allues
We bought the chalet to escape the summer heat of Dubai (50 degrees) and have beautiful weather and fresh air in the mountains in the Alps. We are also keen skiers and enjoy skiing and the cold. So a perfect contrast and exact match of what we needed. The air is fresh and your fitness levels improve so much by all the walks, cycling and skiing. The views are beautiful summer and winter. It is peaceful in the village but all you need is on your door step if you like the lively side of town...
What makes this Chalet unique
The village is so friendly and their are restaurants close by and a few pubs. It is peaceful and is a perfect retreat to get away from it all.

Another great stay at this beautiful Chalet
I've been coming to this chalet for 3 years now in summer and winter, great location and beautiful chalet with everything you need. I've never had an issue and love the place! See you soon!
Review of chalet in Les Allues by Tony Knowles
We shared the chalet with another family of four, making eight of us in total. The chalet was perfect for us with plenty of space for everyone. Getting to the slopes each morning was a bit of a chore but getting back to a comfortable chalet each evening was a delight. Sitting on the veranda with a cup of tea or something stronger, in the sun, with the fantastic views made the holiday memorable.
Good chalet with good facilities
Enjoyed our stay at this property, a family of 3 and a family of 5. Plenty of hot water for showers, extra toilets were welcome. Due to snow cover we drove to Meribel each day rather than get the bus or the gondola up - long queues coming back on gondola. Would certainly recommend this chalet to other users
Fantastic Chalet - Location and Facilities Brilliant
Chalet is in a fantastic location, perfect for all groups. It is clean, well maintained and has everything you could possibly ask for. Will be visiting this place again.... highly recommended!
Beautiful large chalet in great location
Our party of nine adults stayed a week in this amazing chalet. We comfortably had enough room to accommodate all of us and immensely enjoyed the stay, I highly recommend this chalet and will be going back next season!
The chalet is located in Les Allures and is a 2 minute walk away from the town center where you can access local amenities such as super market, bars and restaurants. To get to Meribel you can either take the free bus which is about a 5 minute walk or the gondola which is a few minutes further. The bus and gondola take about 10 mins to get to Meribel and the bottom of the slopes.
The chalet itself has everything you will need such as fridge, heating, lots of space, bedding, towels, kitchen area with oven, hob fridge etc as well as a few added extras like very fast internet (WiFi), Sky TV, a sauna, beautiful views from the balcony and a lovely log fire which we were all fighting to attend to of an evening over a glass of wine.
The chalet is decorated lovely both inside and out and is very well maintained and also has instructions on how to use the various facilities posted throughout the chalet. Customer service from the owners was second to none. We were all so impressed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
comfortable chalet for two families
We stayed in Les Allues with two families with teenagers. It was a perfect fit: one family (5 persons) stayed upstairs and the other family(4 persons) downstairs. Both families had their own bathroom(good shower!) and toilet. The kitchen and living room in between was nicely decorated, fine kitchen equipment and big enough to give everybody their own space. The kids liked the fast Wifi..to keep in touch with friends in the Netherlands. The parents liked the fireplace to drink Savoie wine together. The supermarket, about 10 minutes nice walk through the old village, sells delicious croissants and bread among other basic groceries. The best thing to do is to go to the Super U in Moutiers (on the road to the chalet) and bring a lot of stuff and put it in the two refrigerators in the chalet. Walking on ski boots to the lift/bus took us about 15 minutes, so we decided to take the car to the lift and park over there(enough place and free). We liked to ski back to Les Allues on the track le Raffort. We enjoyed a dinner in restaurant L'Arbé (good Savoie cheese fondue, burgers and pizza). Les Allues is a charming quiet little village with authentic houses. We highly recommend this chalet! The owners are very accurate to give all the information you need. We have two tips. 1. as we were stuck in traffic jam for many hours on both Saturdays(black Saturdays) it might be more comfortable to start/end your holiday on Sunday. 2. On other possibility is to rent skis in Meribel and leave them in a rented locker (in order to avoid walking on ski shoes) and take lift/bus back to les Allues.
There are some beautiful lakes in comfortable driving distance from the chalet including the famous Lake Annecy which is known as "Europe's cleanest lake" as well as its third largest. Closer still is Lake La Plagne which hosts a sandy beach and spectacular surrounding views.
Nearest airport is Chambery (one hour) or Geneva or Lyon (2 hour drive). Transfer buses are available.
Les Allues is 6km from Meribel centre, 7km from Meribel village and 11km from Meribel-Mottaret. The nearest town of convenience is Moutiers at the bottom of the valley and is a 20 minute drive.
There is a supermarket in Les Allues and a cash point. Meribel centre has many. For big shop its best to go down 6km to Moutiers for Super U or Carrefour. There are many banks in moutiers also.
