About Anthony Johnson
Wigford Farm is in the most amazing location. Now that my children have mostly left home it's a joy to share it with holiday-makers throughout the year. Deep in the countryside and yet only a 15 minute drive to some of the most stunning beaches in the country; we can hardly believe our luck.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
We delight in telling people how they can walk out of the front gate and follow a fairy tale path through woodland to be at the River Avon at Topsham Bridge in 10 minutes. If you've never seen a Devon river, this is something else... from sparse and clear in the summer, to a raging torrent if it's been wet for long, The Avon is ever changing; reflecting nature in her changes by the day. On a clear night we're still amazed by the number of stars you can see...

Relaxing countryside weekend with family
Lovely! - relaxed, beautiful rustic house and gardens in stunning countryside
So glad you all had a lovely time!
A lovely relaxed place for large groups
We had a great time at Wigford Farm as an extended family group. The accommodation is nicely arranged with plenty of bathrooms and space on the upstairs floor. The downstairs has a lovely lounge where we could relax if the weather was bad (which is wasn’t!) The garden is great and is situated in a very special and secluded rural area of the South Hams. There’s a really lovely local walk through a woodland. We had 4 young children with us who loved the freedom of the garden.
We felt really relaxed in the space - hopefully we didn’t make too much noise!
Another family was staying in the Chalet but it’s quite far away so we weren’t aware of it at all.
With 3 dogs, 4 families, 4 young children in tow, it was a great place for us to all relax enjoy some family time in a beautiful area and enjoy fantastic days out on the many beautiful local beaches.
We're so glad you all had a great time. We love it when large families use the house for a get-together: it always seems to be fun!
Perfect for family break
Wonderful location. A great place for a family holiday. We were 16, with 6 under 12, so the Chalet was perfect for the 20yr olds. This is not luxury but certainly good if you want to stay in an old Devon farmhouse.
So glad you enjoyed your stay and it's great to hear that the chalet gave your young adults a bit of their own space!
