About John Gardiner
St Clair is our much loved holiday home which was for a time our main house. We extended and modernised it in 2010 with our architect and commissioned a hand built kitchen. We grew to love the area so much that on retirement form Oxford we bought a property nearby but inland so that we could indulge our passion for gardening. We visit frequently to check the property or to enjoy it with family and friends. As it was our home the atmosphere and furnishings reflect our enthusiasm for both vintage and modern. We regard you as our guests and want you to feel welcome. We are available if there are problems or you need advice. Our housekeeper is experienced and trusted and looks after our own home too.
John Gardiner purchased this House in 2005
Why John Gardiner chose Saint Minver Highlands
A house with a lovely garden within walking distance (with surf boards) of the beach. The sound of the surf and the view of the sea from the property and the road.

Spacious well-equipped holiday property in Polzeath
We had a lovely stay here at half-term week. The house is spacious and well-equipped and communications with the owner were very friendly. We would love to stay again. Thank you!
Great property - everything we needed!
Great location, fab size and everything we needed for 8 adults.
We had a fantastic week staying atAt Clair. Perfect location and the house great for families.
Lovely, well equipped, house
Lovely house with enclosed rear garden. Good parking space. Well equipped with good quality bedding, duvets, cutlery, crockery, glassware etc. Flexible living space which is ideal for different concurrent activities. Good kitchen with AGA and electric cooler as well. Lovely and warm at all times. Outside hot shower which is great for dog washing and sand removal. Suited us perfectly (four adults, one child and one dog). Recommended.
A very generous and homely place to stay, 5 minutes from the beach
Very nicely laid out house - worked very well for the 8 adults we had staying, with 2 reception rooms, large kitchen and beautiful garden. Plenty of bathroom access and outdoor shower for getting rid of the sand. Very well equipped kitchen for a holiday home. There were welcomig touches - a bottle of wine when we arrived, nice bed linen and towels and lovely local soap. It felt like a home.
Fantastic holiday at St Clair.
We had a lovely holiday at St Clair which is an extremely well equipped, spacious and comfortable house. We loved the separate lounge areas which meant that the teenagers and adults could have their own chill out space. The weather wasn't brilliant during our stay and the aga was great for drying towels and damp clothes. It also meant that there was always plenty of hot water. The outside hot shower was great to rinse off under when coming back from the beach.
Having stayed in Polzeath several times previously we were hesitant about staying in New Polzeath as thought it might be a bit remote but the short cut to the beach actually meant that it was quicker to walk to the beach and sea front (and less steep) than previous years. The garden is fully enclosed so we had no concerns about our labrador escaping. The wild rabbits in the garden were an added bonus for her! We have already booked to go again next year.
