About Timothy Abbott - Cornish Seaview Cottages
Hello, I run a holiday company called Cornish Seaview Cottages which advertises cottages in Cornwall. Having renovated a number of properties in Cornwall and then used them as holiday lettings, I decided to purchase a shell of a house and barn and build a holiday property in France which has had very favorable feedback. We now have a few more properties in France and our Cornish properties are also growing in number. As a small friendly company we have many loyal customers who enjoy staying in our properties and return year after year. We now look forward to welcoming you.
Why Timothy Abbott - Cornish Seaview Cottages chose Boscastle
Previous guests comments: ” I couldn’t improve it, so lovely to stay somewhere so perfect where dogs are welcome too. It was comfortable, warm, well equipped, home from home – only better! We will definitely be back.” A great cottage for a family holiday with all the attractions Boscastle and the surrounding area offer.
What makes this Barn unique
Boscastle is a spectacular Elizabethan harbour designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village has shops, pubs, restaurants and a visitor’s centre, but please note it is a long steep walk down from the cottage. However, you can take the car and park at the bottom should you not fancy the climb back. Historic Tintagel is only 3 miles away, while Bude (20 minutes by car) offers all the desired seaside attractions including surfing. In the other direction you are only 20 minutes from Polzeath, one of Cornwall’s most popular family beaches – again another favourite with the surfers and body boarders and there are plenty of places to hire a wet suit in the chillier months. The North Cornwall Coast path is not too far away and nearby you can enjoy, seal-spotting, bird watching, coarse and sea fishing and horse riding.

Lovely cottage, well equipped and stunning views.
There are only two points that I would like to raise.
1) Parking. As you share this with the cottage below, you have to hope that the other party is considerate enough to leave you enough space to park. The begining of our stay was fine but then on change over a van turned up and took our allocated space and parked a good 3 feet off the wall making it difficult to park our car with out it sticking out in to the narrow lane.
2) Slate steps, these are ok but a little slippy. Not to bad for an able bodied person but it is worth considering if you are anyway hindered. They are steep and narrow and when slippy can be difficult to navigate. Even the dog slipped off at one point.
The above did not affect our stay but just thought I would let you know as it may be worth adding in the write up, hence the 4 stars. 👍🏼
Thank you ever so much for your feedback.
We shall look into the parking issue and make future guests aware of the slippy steps.
We hope to welcome you back in the future and once again thank you for taking the time to give us a great review.

Lovely cosy cottage
We loved our stay here. We only have 2 issues. One was that the place could have benefitted from a good clean. There was quite a few cobwebs and dust around. Also the Tv reception was very poor. Maybe this is normal for this area but thought I should mention it. Otherwise would highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.
Great for our four-legged friend, very secure enclosed garden! Unfortunately the humans are not catered for quite as well. Property not very secure. No adequate outside lighting in the garden. A few solar lights in the garden would be beneficial for a minimal cost. The utensil drawer wouldn't open unless the button on the dishwaser was pressed in!!!! Such silly details that could be easily rectified on a budget. This property could be AMAZING with a little TLC. Had a pleasant enough week but sadly will not be rebooking...... such a shame!
Thank you for taking the time to review Seagull Barn, I'm sorry to hear that you experienced these issues and we will of course be addressing them straight away. We appreciate all feedback from our guests as it enables is to continue improving our properties. We hope you enjoyed your stay in Cornwall despite these issues and we would of course love to welcome you back in the future should you change your mind.
