A lovey sunny GROUND FLOOR apartment, enviable location in Sussex Village.
About Michelle Coe
I work in Travel and have spent many nights in various 5 star hotels - I wanted the apartment to be comfortable without compromising style. I love walking and cycling and the area is great for this.
Michelle Coe purchased this Apartment in 2005
Why Michelle Coe chose Hassocks
Our family home was opposite, we moved from Brighton as was getting too busy and wanted more space for our children. Originally it was the Village Post Office, however I bought it when the Post master retired. It has been sympathetically restored.
What makes this Apartment unique
It is in a really enviable position, as is so close to Brighton and Lewes and yet is at the foot of the South Downs, with Ditchling Village just along the Road, and Hurstpierpoint, also a beautiful village. There is a village pub opposite and a historic Church a few meters away. Also it is a converted Old Post Office with the box still being used by locals. If you love walking/cycling and yet love the City life - this is great! Also the apartment is extremely sunny as is South Facing, and decorated to a very high standard.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
Ideal for a short stay for a couple. Ideally located in a beautiful area with access to road and rail.
Beautiful apartment. Perfect location for Brighton Lewes and The South Downs
Wonderful everything you need
Great location for exploring the South Downs area
Cute little self catering apartment with a superbly comfortable bed to relax in after long walks across the South Downs and surrounding area. Excellent proximity to Hassocks station to visit Brighton with ease and then return to the peace of the countryside.
Lovely stay at the Post Office
Post Office is elegant and just a bit quirky with its old shop layout. On a fairly busy town road but made for an entertaining place to sit in the lovely window seat and watch world go by, and the back bedroom was quiet and comfortable. Didn't get a chance to use the kitchen - instead strolled to JJ's café in Hassock for a fab breakfast and in to Ditchling for a good pub dinner at the White Horse. Michelle was a lovely host - and we really appreciated being able to check in early. (Oh, and the wedding went without a hitch!)
It is lovely and in a really convenient location. You have direct walking access into the South Downs National Park from the cottage. Six minutes walk into Hassocks, shops and railway station. Also 10/15 minutes walk across the fields or road to Ditchling and the great Bull Inn.
The cottage is quiet and the double bed is huge and very comfortable.
clean and well equipped, very helpful owner
my grandson and myself stayed 3 nights with a friend staying over 1 night. The twin beds and sofa bed were comfortable and the whole property was clean and well equipped.
the owners, staff and customers at the Greyhound pub, (opposite the property) were very friendly and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal there.
An added bonus for us was the proximity of Hassock train station,an easy 10 minute walk.
Brighton is only 8 minutes by train (10 minutes walk to station), and yet you are in the country with beautiful walks all around. Shoreham Beach which is quieter and sandy at low tide and is a 15 minute drive as is the lovely village of Rottingdean with its undercliff walk to Brighton Marina. This really is a great location you can have the city, or the quant Sussex Villages or the South Downs or the Beach!
Gatwick airport is a 20 minute drive away. Newhaven with ferries to France is a 30 minute drive. Hassocks mainline Railway Station with frequent trains to London Victoria and London Bridge, Brighton(8mins) and Gatwick Airport (20mins)
Being the original Old ' Post Office' it is in the heart of Keymer, at the foot of the South Downs National Park with over 100 miles of walking and cycling along the South Downs way. Brighton is a 15 minute drive away or hop on one of the frequent trains and be there in less than 10 without the worry and cost of parking! The beautiful village of Ditchling is a 15 minute walk away with two lovely village pubs. The historic town of Lewes is 15 minute drive. It really is in a great position.
There are lots of local shops all within a 5-10 minute walk, including Banks , Doctors, supermarket selling local produce, pubs and restaurants and off licence.
A minutes walk in the other direction from the Church is a small convenience store and Chinese takeaway.
