About Trudi Bartlett
We are a family of four; myself, my husband and our two children. We live in East Devon in a fishing village called Beer, where my husband owns a boat hire business. I was a teacher for 27 years but now teach swimming and work as a maths tutor. We love walking, swimming, surfing and generally anything on the water. We have a black Labrador called Bruno who is a new addition to the family and my third child. He's a real character and Loves the beaches of St Ives.

Why Trudi Bartlett chose Saint Ives
We love West Cornwall. The scenery is dramatic and breathtaking and we chose St Ives because it has a charm of its own and we wanted to have the option of being able to walk to restraunts and pubs in the evenings. There are also at least four beaches to choose from facing in different directions so you can be sheltered whatever the wind direction. If the weather is unpredictable there are lots of smaller galleries to visit as well as the Tate, the Barbara Hepworth museum and the Leach pottery which is close to our cottage. There are also beautiful tempting shops, cafes and a cinema and 'kids r us' theatre. Once you leave St Ives to explore the surrounding area then you find yourself in remote countryside away from the crowds and there are some fantastic walks particularly on the North coast road. We chose our cottage because we can park nearby and have access to our car for exploring without the stress of driving through the town.
What makes this Cottage unique
We bought 3, Nanjivey row after looking at properties closer to the beach. We soon realised that it could take more than half an hour to drive through the town in high season and then be almost impossible to find a parking space. We wanted to be able to have our car available to us as we love touring the area and finding new places and exploring new walks. St Ives is beautiful but the scenery in west Cornwall is equally breath taking . St Ives beaches are less than a ten minute walk away or a short taxi ride. There is also a bus from Porthmeor beach to the rugby club which is close to the cottage.

Absolutely beautiful quirky cottage, very spacious
Our first stay in St Ives, short walk down the hill to the harbour which is a central location for the best food & bars, short walks to the 3 main beaches & a cheap friendly bus service was always there to take us back up the hill after a tiring day. Great to have a washing machine in the house for bits & pieces & was plenty of space to have our friends over for a take away- highly recommended. Great communication with owner 👌👍🙌
Thank you Karen. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay.
Special interest holidays:
The cottage is situated in the higher part of St Ives, five to ten minutes walk from the harbour shops and the four beautiful beaches. If you can’t face the up-hill walk back, a taxi ride from the cinema is between £2 and £3 which is probably less than you’d pay to park your car.
