About Sally Marshall
I live in England with my husband and pet 10 year old Labrador. My husband and I both work full time and we spend all our holidays in Spain. We discovered this area of Spain about 6 years ago and have returned on holidays many time since. We love it. The people are friendly and the climate here is sunny most days of the year and has I believe the least amount of rainfall in Spain. I like to have direct contact with all my guests so I can answer any questions you may have, to make sure you have a great holiday. Please do not hesitate to contact me either by phone or e-mail.
Sally Marshall purchased this Villa in 2012
Why Sally Marshall chose Torre-Pacheco
We love this location. The sandy beaches of the Mar Menor are gorgeous. The beach bars and marina restaurants along the coast are fabulous, our favourite bar offers Menu of the day is very reasonable, we eat here frequently. The resort is 15 minutes drive from the airport, we can leave our home in the UK and be in the Villa 4 hours later.
What makes this Villa unique
The resort is so well kept, it is a pleasure to see each time we return. The on-site facilities, restaurants, bars and supermarket give us everything we need when we visit. We particularly like the Italian restaurant La Fontana which is very reasonably priced and we always eat in the Intercontinental Hotel, the food is fabulous and excellent value for money.

Lovely relaxing holiday
This is my second stay at this villa -well equipped, it has everything you need. Great location -close to amenities. Made good use of the golf clubs available at the villa.
A lovely villa in a great resort we all really enjoyed it!
Beautiful property really enjoyed our stay.
spent 10 days there it was great, home comforts abound, plenty of space for 4 adults.
Golf resort has excellent facilities close to hand, restaurants and bars very nice.
If I had one gripe it would be no pool as when we stayed there it was in the 30,s.
Thanks for your review. The resort is the best in the area and we love staying there and the on-site bars and restaurants all in walking distance. I note your comment about the pool, the community pool on the resort can be used although it does have seasonal opening normally end of May through to end of September.
Lovely Villa, Lovely Holiday
Second time staying at this Villa.
Wonderful as before, clean and tidy Villa and beautiful Resort.
Warm Sunshine everyday 26 degrees in October, used pool in Village centre and had wonderful walks around the complex.
Went to the Local beach several times and swam in the Lagoon (like a bath).
We have 2 teenage children and they loved it as well.
Lovely Villa in a great quiet location 🤗
We love this Villa it’s situation on Mar Menor Golf and the area in general. This is our 4th holiday at the villa and we always find it so comfortable and relaxing. The rooftop terrace is not overlooked and a great place for that afternoon tipple in the 🌞 with a book of course. The centre of the complex has a couple of pools a handful of lovely restraunts/bars and entertainment most nights and only a 5 min stroll back to the villa. Looking forward to our next holiday.
The literature and the information on the website quotes "the representatives will meet you when possible at the Villa Castano 88 or advise where the keys will be if they are not able to"... this was not done in my case.. I travelled alone with my 2 young children, and called the representatives when we landed and during our commute to the property over 25 times with no response.. I then had to approach help from the Hotel where I provisionally booked a hotel room as I was so worried/frightened me and my children would have nowhere to stay. We had to email the owner via OwnersDirect and the representatives later called my son to inform us where the keys were hidden...
We experienced another issue with the fixtures and fittings, when the bathroom shelf fell off the wall into the sink below.. We had no goods on the shelf and we wasn't even in the bathroom when it happened. We contacted the representatives but again no response, so emailed the owner via OwnsersDirect and informed them of the situation. We did not see the representatives to evaluate the situation. The owner decided to keep my deposit.. stating "The damage to the sink was caused whilst I was there, as I advised them."
My experience was Inexcusably.
I am disappointed but not surprised to get this review, but when I withheld the damage deposit I expected this may happen.
I try to arrange for all guests to be met at the Villa as I think this is nicer for them.
However in busy months this is not always
possible. Whilst I acknowledge and apologized for the delay I do have emergency access available should the guests contact me and my direct contact details are made available. As an exact time of arrival cannot be given I pass all information including flight details to my representative. It was unfortunate that when the guests called the keyholder had been called to an emergency and there was no phone signal. When they contacted me I immediately called the keyholder and was advised that contact had been made and they were in the Villa. I also supplied a complimentary welcome pack as they were arriving late and in case the shop on the resort was closed.
I have now put in place a slightly different procedure to prevent this happening again.
I build in an allowance for damage to glasses, plates etc and always keep a surplus supply as accidents do happen and I have never in the past held back any money for damage. We were at the Villa several weeks before the guest arrived and the Villa is always checked before and after each guests visit. The guest contacted me to advise the sink had been damaged which had left a big hole in the basin. The Shower and toilet could still be used. They also advised they could manage without using it and were happy to use the other sink. I contacted the keyholder and sent the photo of the damage and arranged for a plumber to replace the sink after they left. I do not agree with the explanation given as the extent of the damage caused could not have been done as was explained. The keyholder did not need to evaluate the damage as it was very clear from photo that a replacement would be needed. The money held did not cover the full cost of the replacement.

La Manga Strip
The La Manga Strip is a unique location in Europe , it is a strip of land 21 Km long and 300 metres wide (average). La Manga means ‘sleeve’ and it is a strip of land which separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor (Small Sea). Along it’s coast on both sides, there are beautiful ‘Blue Flag’ beaches with white sands, ideal for family holidays. Even in the height of the season, they never get ‘packed’ and claustrophobic
The Mar Menor is the largest lagoon in Europe and has a surface area of 130 sq km and a maximum depth of 8 metres. The crystal clear waters are warm, calm and rich in salts and minerals, in fact the temperature never falls below 18degrees. In certain areas of the Mar Menor the therapeutic clays can be found, these are a favourite with the Spanish tourists.
