Cottage near Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland - 1 Minute Walk To Shoreline
About Kirsten Hannay
Kirkdale Estate cottages are situated on a private working estate, Kirkdale Estate, home to the Hannay family for 500 years. The two cottages, Kirkdale Bank and Kirkdale Port, sit about a quarter of a mile apart from each other and have been lovingly refurbished with the aim of giving them as many home comforts as possible - woodburning stoves, free logs central heating, shower, bath, freezer, washer/dryer, black-out lined curtains (for good nights sleep), pocket sprung mattresses, selection of pillows. Both have enclosed gardens and are pet friendly. Toys, games and books are in the properties. There is so much to see and do in the area and we are always very happy to help with suggestions for nearby activities or places to see and lovely restaurants and cafes to visit also.

The cottage is just perfect and very well equipped.
I stayed here for a week with my husband, daughter, son and our 2 dogs. The weather was beautiful the whole week which was great.
The real fire was lovely in the evening to sit round and play board games, plenty of logs etc.
Neil the owner was there to meet us just after we arrived which was lovely as he was able to tell us more about the place.
The view here is perfect, looking out over the water from every room in the house practically.
The garden is completely enclosed which was good for the dogs.
The beds were so comfortable and cosy.
Newton Stewart is probably the best place locally to go for food shopping as it has a couple of large supermarkets.
Kirkcudbright is a lovely wee place.
All in all we had a fantastic relaxing week away from it all, with only the rabbits in the garden for company, it really was perfect.
