About Mary Anne Florey
I have been welcoming guests to Rectory Farm in our self catering cottages since July 1996. Our family has farmed here since 1915 and we are passionate about our little corner of Oxfordshire! We live in the farmhouse, a short distance away from the cottages and are on hand to answer any questions you may have or to help you plan that special day out or advise on the best places to eat. Our son James joined us on the farm in January 2013 and both he and Robert take great pride in our herd of pedigree Devon Cattle - 'The Red Rubies'. During calving time a visit to our new farmyard, half a mile away is a treat. During your stay beef, eggs from our hens, preserves and honey can usually be purchased from us. We look forward to welcoming you to this quiet peaceful area of rural England.
Why Mary Anne Florey chose Northmoor
Both cottages provide a home from home experience. They are very well equipped so cooking away from home is a pleasure. There is a bookcase full of books so you can curl up in front of the woodburner and lose yourself in a book for a few hours. Rectory Farm is one of the few places where you cannot here the noise of a road - bliss! Enough of reading, walking, site seeing and no desire to cook then you are a short stroll from our community owned village pub which keeps a good range of local beers and serves delicious food. We do recommend booking for evening meals and we are very happy to do this for you.
What makes this Cottage unique
When we converted the cottages from an open fronted cart shed we knew that we wanted to create cottages that provided a home away from home experience which were ideal for couples, families and people travelling on business - judging by the comments in our visitors book we have succeeded!!

Very comfortable well equipped cottage-Friendly welcoming host.
We were delighted to live in an English village which had a church Sung Eucharist the Sunday we were there. The village pub is excellent.
We were well situated to visit Oxford and many other local attractions e.g.Nuffield Place.
The local walks were interesting and well documented.
beautiful and stunning location
very relaxing and comfortable
So glad you enjoyed your stay with us Laura, and for taking the time to write a review - it is much appreciated. We hope to welcome you both back on another occasion.
Charming country village get away.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Comfortable, clean and warm, set out to a high standard. Log burner . Great setting. The local Pub is 5 min walk down the road and is well worth a visit, as it serves local beers and food is excellent. Plenty of local walks. Could say more but it would spoil the surprise. Enough to say we would be more than happy to come back.
Thank you for the lovely review Murray. We very much enjoyed meeting you both and hope that you had a good journey back - less snowy than the arrival one! We hope to welcome you back to Rectory Farm on another occasion. All the best, Mary Anne
Loved our stay at Orchard Cottage which was spotlessly clean, well equipped, warm and comfortable.
We had such a fantastic week we didn't want it to end! Mary Ann gave us such a lovely warm welcome and was very helpful with regards to booking our Sunday lunch and information about the area and Oxford itself. The cottage was lovely, a real home from home and we would thoroughly recommend it to our family and friends, we want to come back for another holiday there. Our Sunday roast at the local pub was delicious. The highlights of our stay were local walks - lovely countryside, visited parts of the Oxford Canal very tranquil, Christ Church College tour including the banqueting hall, cathedral etc., Ashmoleon Museum, Natural History and Pitt Rivers Museums, Oxford Castle, Alice's Shop and the Covered Market all really worth a visit. Soaking up the history and great atmosphere of the City was exciting. We definitely want to come back and explore more. Thank you Mary Ann and Robert.
Rest and Relaxation
Comfortable cottage with all facilities covered and more. Peaceful location, with only the cows for company. Lovely area for walking, close to the Thames and lakes. Plenty of pubs nearby although we didn't eat in any of them. Very attractive location with places to visit nearby if you wanted to. Owners were very helpful and friendly.
Loved the holiday, just what we wanted.
A perfect holiday home
We rented both cottages for the week of our daughter's wedding nearby.
Amid all the emotions and busyness of wedding preparations, Rectory Farm Cottages were a haven of peace where we could eat together, enjoy walks, admire the beautiful cattle, and buy some beef to take home.
The owners were very welcoming and friendly without being intrusive.
We are looking forward to returning next year.
