Two Bedroom Luxury Beach House
Anna and Joel Moskowitz
About Anna and Joel Moskowitz
Our love affair with Roatan began many moons ago. Little Farm by the Sea (our home on 2 plus acres on the hill above the beac house) was born organically when we started helping family and friends find unique places for their holidays - as requests for help kept coming - we decided to share our own experiences on the island. We believe in play and making sure life remains an adventure. Owner Operated We offer a personal style of service as we genuinely want our guests to experience the best the island life has to offer. We combine our understanding of western holiday needs with our local knowledge to find what is best suited to you. Below is a 360 video of the property. Why Anna and Joel Moskowitz chose Palmetto Bay
Little Beach House by the Sea has a special spiritual calming energy being located right on the water. You will settle into this home within minutes of your stay. The Balinese plantation chairs will cradle you while you enjoy a morning beverage and watch the sun rising above the clouds, the birds chirp or pollinate the flowers, the tropical 'bunnies' as they hop around eating fruit then right after you will enjoy the waves of the warm Caribbean Sea. The Balinese themed architecture adds to the peaceful laid back ambience of the setting as does the comfort of the lux accommodations provided. This Resort community offers "old Roatan" style, full of wild but lovingly cared for vegetation; picture wild orchids growing on trees, wild vines wrapping around other trees, the smell of scented flowers, usual and various tropical fruits, ripening bananas of the tree ready to eat, coconut trees swaying to and fro. Many unforgettable stunning views. A seasonal stream is located to the right of this property lined with trees and reforested mangroves which protect he reef from runoff and is a nursery for marine life.
What makes this House unique
A remote location stunner, a haven for scuba divers, with a private island feel. With over 100+ acres on a remote bay, Palmetto Bay with an ole island, jungle -luxe style. paradise on the beach
Anna and Joel are the most welcoming and gracious property owners we have every had the pleasure of renting from. Their Little Beach House was perfect for the three of us. The kitchen was abundantly stocked and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The arrangement of the house gave us our own space and the living area was spacious with a gorgeous view of the water. The porch was a great place to sit at the end of the day. We even had a kitty adopt us and greet us when we returned home each day. The Cove restaurant located right next door served excellent food and we ate there several times. The staff was so friendly and attentive . The pool area is clean and very relaxing. We had a wonderful time exploring the island from visiting the sloths (a must!) to walking through the jungle gardens. Snorkeling was great at Half Moon Bay.
In the end, we couldn't have chosen a nicer place to spend a week. Joel and Anna were always available if we had a concern or a question. Anna made sure we were well stocked with bug sprays, which we found very necessary. No problems with the critters in the house, but we always "sprayed up" before stepping outdoors. You can't go wrong if you choose to stay here. I would suggest renting a car, as there is a lot to explore on Roatan. We had no complaints about the roads, as some have mentioned. They have recently been nicely updated!
Thank you, Anna and Joel, for sharing your little piece of paradise and helping us create forever memories!
A beautiful place to come home to
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Little Beach House by the Sea! Palmetto Bay was such a tranquil respite from the bustle of the west side of the island. Everything was still super accessible by car (about 20-30 minute drive to all the action) but it was so nice to come home to the amazing views offered by this house, and the clean and quiet beach. There were sea kayaks and SUPs for use by people staying at Palmetto and we rowed out to see a beautiful sunset. We also took a charter out straight from our beach to snorkel and see a ship wreck!
The property is comfortable, well-appointed, and nicely located with easy access to the restaurant next door. It was so nice to be able to hop over for a nice breakfast or grab a quick lunch in between adventures. The property owners took great care of us, were there to answer any questions but also gave us all the privacy we wanted, and they even rescued us when we found ourselves stuck at the airport without a rental car.
I would recommend this place without reservation and will definitely look to see if it's available when we return to the island!
Last minute get away
Beautiful house in a lovely natural setting. The views of the beach from the house were amazing and this was the perfect place to unwind (and work!) for the week. We loved the fact that many people staying in the complex were either local or from neighboring Central American countries. The beachbar/pool area was clean, natural and understated, and everyone was so relaxed and friendly. The lack of resort feel, while still having everything that a resort normally has really left a good impression and if we ever come back would choose Palmetto over anywhere else on the island. The house itself was well equipped and everything we needed was there. It is however, right next door to the pool area so if you are looking for somewhere very secluded and out of the way, one of the houses located elsewhere may be more desirable (although with the risk of losing the beautiful views).
We were delighted to have you stay with us Claudia. Thank you for the kind words. Your stay was over Semana Santa (Easter week), during which Palmetto Bay is more populated than at any time except Christmas, with more Central Americans, many of whom get the week off. Other times are equally beautiful, but less lively.
The location of the house right on the beach is absolutely breathtaking!
We had an awesome time at Anna and Joel’s home! Views to die for and all the modern conveniences you could want. Being right next to the pool and restaurant bar was perfect and they close at a decent time so no sleep interruption at all. You really need at a car at this location so plan for that in your budget. For me it was and ideal place to practice my daily yoga early in the morning on our deck looking over the ocean, hummingbirds zipping back and forth or on the pier watching the sunrise and before the rest of the community wakes up. The snorkelling in the warm sea is wonderful everywhere on Roatan as is the diving.
Have not one thing negative to say especially now that road almost all the way is brand new concrete!
If noseeums aka sand flies love you come prepared, lots of bug spray, for me it was an all day event and I have lots of souvenirs from them. Do not scratch them, once you start it’s an itch fest!
I absolutely recommend this rental especially if you are looking to be away from cruise ship crowds and late night parties! For me it was blissfull! Can’t thank Anna and Joel enough🙏🏻
Thank you, Deb, for your warm review. We too are delighted with the new roads. The bumpy ones they replaced were mentioned in many old reviews. It is now much quicker to go to the airport, West End and West Bay. Please return any time!
A beautiful serene home on the beach - very relaxing and amazing hosts! Would highly recommend!
What a wonderful serene place 'by the sea'! Anna and Joel are the kindest most beautiful souls I have ever met and they were more than hospitable during our stay. They went out of their way to drive us and made a stop to the grocery store for us. Their home is perfect for a family in particular if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of West End or West Bay. They had fun games for the kids and everything you needed for a great getaway. The restaurant at Palmetto served great food also and everyone was friendly and welcome. There was a great pool for the kids to use also.
I Highly recommend seeing the sloths, a highlight for our family! They are the most adorable creatures, more that I would of expected - well cared for too and close to Pametto Bay. I would recommend this beautiful home to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the serenity of Roatan and we would definitely return. Renting a car may be an option though if you plan to explore the island further and take many side trips or some sort of vehicle, but you could equally spend the week here chillaxing and enjoying!
Thank you Joel and Anne for sharing your amazing home with us! We really can't thank you enough for your gracious hospitality and kindness that made our stay even better! Hope to see you again soon!
The only other comment is: the snorkelling was not as accessible as other palaces on the island, although you could snorkel further from the beach (we didn't though as we had done lots closer to West End) and there were a few bugs that bit in the evening (not sure what insects they were as they we didn't see a lot of bugs, but they were itchy especially during the evening inside. There was lots of insect repellent provided by the wonderful hosts that was used during the day however and the bugs seemed fine then).
Thank you so much, Yolanda, for your wonderful review of our beach house (and of Anna and me). We are happy when our guests love this place as we do, and it makes our efforts to delight them worthwhile.
Didn't want to come home!
We had an amazing time! Didn't want to come home. Your home is beautiful. We will be in touch when we return. Take care and thank you for everything!
