Why Lisa chose East Aurora

This historic building c. 1823, the first structure built on Olean Street in East Aurora, was originally built by Gen. Aaron Riley. Gen. Riley was instrumental to the growth of East Aurora in the 1800's. First working in the law office of President Fillmore in town, later, helping finance the Train station (RIley Street Station). He had an entrepreneurial role in the development of Main Street Business and industry.

This building, while in a terrible state of repair and long since forgotten, we fell in love with. We wanted to bring it back to its original, understated grandeur. Expose and Celebrate the 200 year old craftsmanship while making a mark of our own and structurally securing the building for another couple hundred years. It is, indeed, a special building and we could be more proud to be a part of its journey through time.

From the Exposed brick walls to the vaulted ceilings highlighting the original beam construction, you do truly 'connect' with the history. I love fusing the modern, more progressive applications with the historic aspects... it is everywhere in Europe. Our travels over seas have played a big part in the inspirations of design and use of space. Aesthetically, It is both respectful of its history and progressive... a special and unique place to call 'home' whether you are staying one night or a full week.
