Apartment in Tavira, Eastern Algarve, Portugal - Quiet Location, A Few Minutes Walk To Shops, Bars, Restaurants And Marke
About Sylvia Dean
Although I grew up in London, I now live in a small village in South Northamptonshire. Now retired, I worked in education. We first visited Tavira in1982 with our young children and after returning many times decided to see if it was possible to visit without using a car. It is!
Sylvia Dean purchased this Apartment in 2009
Why Sylvia Dean chose Tavira
We fell in love with this apartment at the first viewing. It is well built and equipped, secure, and the position is so convenient, within easy walking distance of shops, a variety of restaurants and bars. We have furnished it as we would our own home, to be comfortable and welcoming . Because the development has permanent Portuguese residents, there is always someone around, even in the winter -which is when we mostly visit. We feel at home in Tavira, the local people are all so welcoming and friendly.
What makes this Apartment unique
We like to sit on the balcony looking at the local house roof tops and Sao Sebastian church. We see birds swooping down to drink in the swimming pool and watch the bats come out at dusk.

Ticked all the boxes
This apartment ticks all the boxes. Located close to everything you will need; ferry to beach, supermarket and restaurants.
The apartment is well equipped with spacious rooms, nice furniture and well laid out and a front terrace that gets sun in the evening. The pool allows for a quick dip to cool off and is used by holiday renters and locals. You can listen to the parrot on the balcony on the facing block give you a wolf whistle when you walk out in the morning.
Having use of a cool bag, beach chairs and umbrellas made life very easy.
The apartment is secure in a gated block and having a garage for our hire car was very useful especially as we did not have to use the car much when we were there. A word of warning - we hired via Centauro at Faro airport and their collection point is off site from the airport, the whole process was chaos. We were told a number of companies were now off site and had the same problems. Sylvia had recommended Yellow Fish transfers, we wished we had used them!
We visited Faro by train, Barilll beach and used the little land train to get us orientated .
Nikita restaurant is very close to the apartment and the food was excellent so much so we went twice. Arcade cocktail bar is also very good and a great place to people watch.
Sylvia was very helpful all the way through the booking process and everything went smoothly. We really didn't want to leave.
Lovely flat to stay in.
Lovely comfortable homely flat in fabulous part of Tavira. The verandah gets lots of sun, and two plug in oil heaters are provided for the winter days. I think it was lived in because it has everything you could need.
Beautiful, spotlessly clean, perfect location, loved every day .
The property was the perfect apartment, only minutes from the centre. It was as described, beautiful, spotless and very comfy. The owner made everything really easy. I would definitely stay there again, thank you
An excellent appartment
This is a well appointed and very spacious one bedroom apartment. It is very well equipped and provides many extras. It was spotlessly clean and the arrival pack plus wine was a surprise and much appreciated. The linen service was an added bonus as we were staying a month and laundry was not really on the agenda. The apartment is situated in an excellent central secure location and is only minutes from the main square in the Tavira town ideal for bars and restaurants. Mr and Mrs Dean could not have been more helpful and the deposit repayment was very swift. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to friends in fact I already have!. Barry and Penny Emmett
Central, modern apartment with pool
A lovely position, easy walking to everywhere. Flat clean, and everything good quality; excellent kitchen. There was a garage and a lift right outside the flat, so easy access if less mobile. The pool was closed when we were there but kept clean. Only negative for us was there is no private terrace for sunbathing; you are in full view of the whole complex and a neighbour has to walk past you to get to their flat. When we were there it was very quiet. Owner friendly and helpful.
Very nice apartment.
We, a family of 4, enjoyed our stay in this apartment very much. Everything we could think of was available in the apartment. Our contact with the owner was very nice. The terras outside and the swimming pool in front were very nice to stay at. Also the apartment is situated ideally to the center of Tavira, everything within walking distance and also very quiet.
