My partner, daughter and i stayed at Stonegarth during half term, the cottage is very quaint and quirky with low beams and spiral stairs. The log burner was a highlight!! The weather was cold-ish and we couldn't wait to return each evening after a day out to get the fire roaring. The cottage is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Staithes is a lovely place to stay and the walks along the Cleveland way are within easy reach and have great views. Recommend a visit to Dotty's Tearoom in Staithes and also Whitby. We're already planning our next visit. Kate, Staffs
Great location. Good space. Nicely appointed.
Staithes is always a win, whatever the weather. This house ticks all the boxes for plonking you in the heart of the village so you can take full advantage of all the sights and activities kids adults love to enjoy, whether that be crabbing, beach day, pub lunch, cliff walk, rock pooling or just mooching.
Lovely Stonegarth cottage in Staithes.
Cottage is in a great location in the village of Staithes. It was a good size for my wife and I. It could easily accommodated a party of four, and would recommend the cottage.
Thanks for your lovely review and really pleased that you had a great week at Stonegarth. Hope to welcome you back very soon!
it has all you need!
we are a family of 4 with two children aged 2 and 9. This was our first time at Staithes and we thoroughly enjoyed it. beautiful scenary, steeped in history, plenty to do. Beach is clean and local people all friendly.
we only ate out once at the pub nearest to the cottage. food was good. we also had fish and chips from the chippy at the top of the hill.... we would highly recommend it. very tasty!
Lots to do in the area would recommend the following;
North Yorkshire Railway
Robin Hoods Bay
Port Mulgrave for fossil hunting - but just research re accessibility as its a bit of a climb!!!
The cottage is well equiped, clean and tidy. It's in a good location within Staithes. Parking only at the top of the village permit is provided. This did mean plenty of walking up and down a hill to get to the car. To load and unload there is a 40 minute limit outside property.
stairs are steep and the top bedroom has no door on it as its an attic bedroom, this leads to a steep staircase. Not a problem but with a fearless toddler we had to rethink sleeping arrangements.
we definitely will be returning to Staithes and we would certainly stop in this cottage again.
It was great to read that you had all enjoyed your family holiday in Staithes and that Stonegarth was a great base for your holiday. Hope to welcome you back very soon!
Cosy cottage on the coldest week of the year. Perfect location.
We had a great long weekend despite all the snow. Lovely walks. A choice of cosy pubs and cosy nights in.
The lack of parking outside the property wasn’t a problem all, as you could park outside to unload.
Would love to return.
Thanks for your lovely review and that you had a fabulous weekend st Stonegarth despite the weather! Hope to welcome you back very soon.
